MARC-ANTOINE FORTUNE will seal his return to West Brom today after Celtic agreed a £2.25million deal.

And Celts will use the cash to pursue Israeli striker Itay Shechter and seal a £1m deal for Hibs ace Anthony Stokes.
Shechter is rated at £2.5m by Hapoel Tel Aviv and would be keen to join international team-mate Beram Kayal at Parkhead.
SunSport understands the Hoops have made initial contact with Hapoel and are hoping to wrap up the switch over the weekend.
Republic of Ireland cap Stokes, 22, knocked back a £1m switch to Parkhead two years ago in favour of joining Sunderland.
But after hitting 23 goals for Hibs last season he'll have a medical in Glasgow today and could be in the Celtic squad for Sunday's SPL trip to Motherwell.

 

not sure if this was covered earlier or not so if it was i apologize. i noticed on the first page there was a link to his goal in the CL qualifier in Austria. the austrian fans chanted things like get back in the gas chamber you pigs and threw lighters on the field and chanted anti semitic propaganda. so this guy in defiance scores the goal and pulls out his yamulke and prays for all of those * to see. love of a bit of that in any player or person for that matter. something many of us can identify with. i really hope we sign this guy. class through and through

no, one of my mates was there and apparently some of the people he was with were talking about it. it was also reported in several papers. i can't make out what they're saying in the video but here's the article I saw. apparently the articles that this site references are in hebrew, which i don't speak but it has been reported in several other media outlets as well. i have a soft spot for players who bless themselves in defiance of ignorant bigotry

Like I said in another thread here, he's a gem of a player, really is.

He is a striker, but he's very versitile and can play in all the attacking positions..

He's very fast, and suprisingly strong, and can take on even the biggest defenders on his back and push them off somehow.. great ball controll and trickry, good passing and vision, he's great running with the ball, has a strong shot and can finish with both legs... he can create a goal from nothing all by himself, and he's very very danguras with place to run with the ball and face towards goal on the dribble.. either scoring or assisting with ease.

What he does need to improove/is improoving is his 1v1 situations, header a bit, and his box presence - must of the good stuff he's making is starting away from the box, when he was younger he missed so much, and it's just amazing to see his progress in that area - but still he can and I believe will be better at that.. his not much of a fox in the box type, so he miss that box presence as he ain't a "number 9" type, but like I said he create alot by himself and he's still young and the way he improoved himself as a player so far is very impressive.

He's just fearless and is not afraid from anyone or anything... and he's a real character and a jokster.. he's always having fun joking around and bringing alot of positive attitdue - he's really a funny guy..

He's a positive figure to have in the lockerroom.. i'm sure even tho I have no idea how his English is, that when he comes to a club in Europe he's not gonna be shy and start being friends with everyone and an instant hit in the locker room.


But reports here in Israel said Hapoel rejected your bid, and that he is not leaving due to Hapoel participating in the Champions League this season... however I do believe if you offer big bucks at the winter transfer peroid and if Hapoel finishes 4th in thier group stages(quite frankly I believe they will finish 3rd and even challange for 2nd), then he might come..although I heard something about him not qualifying for a work premit so I don't know.

Anyways, take it from me, if you're buying him you'll fall inlove with him.. he got a very bright future ahead of him.

Some more realism is needed here. Football wise, he would be giving up the champions league for us...a team who cany even beat a mid table dutch side to get in the Europa league. Just because we got a big flash stadium and a bigger fan-base doesn't mean we are a step up for this lad. If I was him? would I come to us now? hmmm...

Still hope. But we should really look in the mirror at ourselves right now, and just think, how appealing do we look to players?
