I think he'll do really well at Everton. Roberto Martinez is probably the perfect manager for him to play for as he will be afforded the freedom to express himself on the pitch.

Delighted with this move. He was one of my favourite players when he was here, I'd love to see him back one day.

I like Everton as a club and they play some good football, seems like a perfect match. Best of luck to him:50:

    * * man, I despise English football fans.

On their forum they think he is ok, will need to prove himself and will be a good back up.

The the usual * who think he has a lot to prove because the SPL and Russian league are '* poor', thankfully one of them pointed out that Arteta made his name up here.

The fact they all rate players by goals, goals, goals is * annoying aswell.

He does have it all to prove though. The EPL is a massive step up for him. He certainly won't get a game ahead of Miralles or Pienaar. Barkley is injured so that might work in his favour.

He was a decent player but we did well getting as much as we did for him.

I know he has to prove himself, seeing as he is a new player and all. But you would think he was plucked from obscurity, some pishy wee non-league player.

Russia is relative obscurity to the English media. People that know football know the Russian league is a pretty high standard.

And they would be correct accept the back up part...

Mcgeady is highly over rated amount the celtic support and
he was a one trick pony who always managed to pull it off but had no end product I'll say that for the 100th time! A shadow of the player when he first came on the scene !

People talk about samaras slowing down the game mcgeady is the same he * about too much I prefer my wingers to be in the mauld of somebody like
Forrest players who like to pace the game up get to the by line or cut inside !

I'm glad he never came back if we would have been interested that is

    Good signing for Everton.

Only be 28 in April. *, feels like he's been around since the 1990's.

Let's see how he finally does against the very best on a pretty good squad.

Nonsense, if he was as bad as your making out he wouldn't have been signed by one of the best teams in one of the best leagues in the world. Iv seen him produce bits of magic and class that not many players who have played in the spl could produce.

I think he'll do really well for them, looking forward to seeing him play for Everton.

I think McGeady has progressed though, I don't believe he is at his best as a winger. Nor do I believe he will be used as an out and out winger at Everton.

I don't believe he is overrated, he is good - none of us believe he is Messi. :smiley-laughing002:

He'll do well there with Martinez. Everton are building a mini Ireland there. They should sign Shane Long now as well

Everton fans used to always say they'd never touch a SPL player even if he was free they've now had McCarthy, Naismith, Jelavic and McGeady in recent years and suddenly McGeady doesn't count as he came from Russia :56:
