I wouldn't particularly say I actively wanted him back no, but I'd take him back - on the cheap of course.

Well this is the last year of his current contract with Spartak Moscow so who knows this is a deal that I could actually see happening.

Spartak to play a couple of games behind closed doors after fans rioted away at Yaroslav Shinnik. *.

Russia is a horrible place to play football, I don't know why players go there other than money.

He would demand around 40k a week. We can't afford that.

It doesn't make sense for any * to fly that flag.

    He's never a £30k a week player, far less a £75k one!

This is the absolute nonsense that comes with playing in overseas inflated markets!

:97: I don't think anyone at our club is currently earning that much, but they're not far off it. Do you think if he came back he wouldn't deserve to be a top earner?

And 'inflated' just means outside Scotland. Top players are paid like this pretty much everywhere in Europe.

£30 k a week? He's definitely worth more than that.

I don't know how he managed to go from earning £20k-£25k a week at Celtic, to then earning £75k a week at Spartak Moscow. That is some agent he has.

This will put so many clubs off - especially Everton. Had a peak on their forum and none of them think he would be worth it, considering they would have to pay extortionate wages, which they believed to be....£50k a week.

He's getting £40k/week tax free over there which is roughly equivalent to £75k/week here

No. I don't think he would deserve to be a top earner at our club.

I've said before in other threads that I don't think he has improved since he left us. He's still the same frustrating player! So given that I wasn't overly impressed with him during his time here, then I wouldn't want him back on his old wage... far less a stupidly high one!

I don't know if Lennon would ever go in for Mcgeady. I remember them having a silly bust up against Dunfermline a few year ago, but it was mostly hand bags.

There's no denying that Mcgeady is a talented one-off type of player. I think in this current team, under Lennon he'd be excellent - I don't think he had the same quality around him previously or that we got the best out of him when he was here.
