We were poor the first 20 mins or so but our performance improved as the game went on. We played some good stuff in the 2nd half. I think we are a good attacking team and create a lot of chances but , without Hooper, we aren't clinical enough in front of goal. Our defence is poor, so the attackers need to be good.

Mertens looks an excellent player

just kidding I was a huge fan of him. His first season in Utrecht was not good. But the second season he was unstoppable in the 16-meter box. When he entered it, 70% of the times it was a penalty for us :icon_mrgreen:

 

I watched the Utrecht game today, Mertens looks a threat down the left for them, but apart from that they lack any other threat or dig in midfield so thats where I think the game can be won.

I'd go for the same team as Saturday but swap Samaras for Hooper if he's fit:

I thought Hooper was basically out for the rest of the month.

 

I also heard that McCourt was questionable for Thursday as well... Forrest would have to step up.

 

Ah well if thats the case I'd stick with Samaras and go with Forrest.

Same team as Saturday please! If McCourt is out let's get Ledley on the left and Juarez in the middle.

 

If we take our chances this game can be won without (too much) trouble.

2-0 is my prediction. We just need to make sure not to scuff chances.

 

I really think we are going to win 3 or 4-0. The second half performance against callie filled me with confidence, and the attacking 4 we had basically, had some nice interchange, its only going to be better in a big pitch with more space.
