    Juarez has to play centre mid every wk. I thot he was wasted out there on the right in the first half. When Ledley played left back and Juarez moved into the middle we looked much better. I would even go with brown on the right instead. I really hope Mulgrew was taken off through injury because if thats not the case , whats that going to do to his confidence with lenny putting a midfielder in Ledley at left back.

    ledley has played left back before. He is capable. He played better there than he did in midfield for me.

    I agree Juarez was wasted at right mid, far more impact on the game from centre mid, who will play beside him, no idea

    Agreed that he needs to play CM and nowhere else but with Brown seemingly undroppable where does that leave Ki, Crosas and the new guy?

    Juarez was born to play CM and he has my vote for captain.

    I wouldn't be surprised if mulgrew faked an injury to force lennon to take him off! He played shocking.....hopefully for him and his confidence this is the case.

    I can only think Juarez has been played wide on either side during his career because of the support he offers to the full back.. I don't think he's particularly quick when running with the ball or in total control of the ball either to offer anything as a winger so it must be his defensive capabilities that have seen him play out there but it makes sense to play him in the middle where he has space either side and can pick out a pass and dictate play because he's shown he's more than capable.. That means switching one of Ledley or Brown out wide and seeing as Brown has the energy to cover for a full back he could do that role which he does for Scotland although selling him is still an option.. Bit early to say categorically which midfield setup is best because we could still get good width from Paddy or Maloney or McGinn when they are availalbe but early signs to me are Ledley and Juarez in the middle when we need to retain good posession to break teams down and maybe Ki breaking that partnership up when we have games at Celtic Park with space to exploit , and Fortune playing wide right.. Still haven't seen enough from Ledley to know what his role in the team is going to be and I think Crosas is reaching the point of no return (Like Donati before him) because we can't play him when we don't have forward players intelligent enough to make use of his range of passing..

    I kind of agree if it's a static back 3 because conceding goals when players have covered for full backs (In a back 4) who've wandered too far up the park has been an ongoing problem for years.. We also don't have anyone to play 1 up front if we go 4-5-1 but there's definately a case for a 5 man midfield because we are stacked with midfielders and playing a back 3 makes that possible so we can keep the 2 up front.. The 4-2-3-1 type formation in Braga with Ledley and Brown as the 2 invited too much pressure at the back but maybe a bit of tweaking to make it a 3-2-3-2 would have seen us get a foothold in that game and press for a goal because it wasn't like they overran us and they scored 3 goals from the only chances they had..

    my midfield would look like this

    :crosas: :kayal:

    :mcgeady: :juarez: :samaras:

    obviously with a 4-2-3-1 formation as juarez seems to be most effective as an attacking mid even though his natural position is right back:97:

    I agree that 3-5-2 seems the logical choice to play to our strengths with the number of quality mids we have and 4-5-1 being unlikely because we really don't have a striker who can play on his own. However, playing 3-5-2 we'd be hamstrung for the future playing in Europe so we're best to play some 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 variation. I think, our safest line up (with a back four or Cha, Rogne, Hooiveld and Ledley - until we buy a new LB) would be;

    :brown: :crosas: :juarez: :samaras:
    :fortune: :hooper:

    our best attacking line-up is probably;

    :crosas: :brown:
    :juarez:
    :fortune: :samaras:
    :hooper:

    With Juarez, Ledley and Kayal all being brought in i really don't think we'll see much of Ki or Crosas this year - with Lennon probably deeming them too lightweight although they are good passers of the ball.

    I would'nt say his shocking but for someone we bought from Barcalona youd expect his passing to be top of the range and its not I would'nt have him in the starting team and I would've selt him in January when we ahd the chance (Wigan)

    If we were playing 3-5-2 My lineup would be

    Rogne Hoovield Misun

    Brown Kayal

    Forrest/Maloney Juarez Ledley

    Hooper Murphy/Rara/Fortune
