Zaluska has been mince in pre-season, Cervi doesn't look convincing. So why don't Celtic spend a few million and buy David Marshall back from Cardiff?

He'd do a great job for us.

Marshall is certainly the better keeper, but like Zaluska, has the worrying habit of conceding soft goals.

Not a bad shout mate but think it would depend how much he would cost. He's probably better than zaluska but is he that much better that he would be worth spending millions on?
The lad cerny from Hamilton looks good to me and wouldn't cost the same as Marshall.

I'd love that ,still think hes a great player and would be nice too bring in more scottish players. I agree with paulie though, i wouldnt want to spend more than he left for. And with talk of hildebrand...id rather go with hi, hes a class act.

I do rate marshall, but again, i don't know if i would like him to be our number 1.

The problem is, regardless of who you bring in, Keepers are on occasion gonna have shocking games. Look at Gomez @ Tottenham, he wasn't cheap and was regarded as one of the best keepers in Europe, but he had a misrible first 6 months, I don't think our fans would have let him away with that.

All in all, I used to think Zaluska was a cracking Deputy to Boruc and although hes had a couple of sloppy games, I'm still willing to give him a chance. He was great for Dundee United, I think all he is lacking is confidence. if we win 3-0/4-0 tonight with a couple of decent saves from Zaluska, you never know, you might see a difference.

Class acts are rarely free-agents mate, he was very poor last season.

Cardiff wouldn't allow Marshall to go any time soon because of this transfer embargo imposed on them , and from what Dave Jones has been saying - Marshall is the only keeper they have on the books and are unable to register new players..
They might have to play an outfield player in goal for their carling cup game because Levein wants Marshall for the Scotland friendly..

He does look a better keeper nowadays than the one who struggled with shots from distance at the end of his time at Celtic..

It's always hard when your Scottish and come back to us, just ask Mulgrew.

Not good enough, would rather take Speroni who has excelled in the Championship.

One poor season doesn't make you a bad player.

Marshall has had his fair share of complete * ups aswell. So I'm not too sure he would be a major improvement. I think the lad is a good keeper, could have been a better keeper as he had the potential but if we were to put a bid in wouldn't pay anymore than 1.5mil, tops.
