    Broony!!
What a difference there was in the team when we changed to 4-4-2 when we went 3-0 down with Murphy and Samaras up front and Fortune out on the right. Were alot more attacking, scored 2, won a penalty and had another few chances and by my reckoning we could've or maybe should've won the game...Arsenal were rattled.

The question is...why not just play that formation from the start?? I am just not a fan of the 4-5-1 formation as the midfield gets too mobbed and the lone striker is too isolated. We have been shown up by this in the Braga game and the 1st half of the Lyon and Arsenal games. But as soon as its changed we look like a totally different team who can compete with anybody.

Surely and hopefully the 4-5-1 system is binned for wednesday, we've nothing to lose so just go for it. I'd rather we get humped 7-0 by playing 2 or 3 up front and going for it than playing a damage limitation 4-5-1 and getting beat 1-0 and not having a shot at goal.

We have had many one footed players over the years and some of them have been good. I can never remember seeing a one handed Goalkeeper before, Zaluska goes for everything with his right hand, this is a definite flaw and will cause problems. Not good enough, we need a quality keeper, fast.

Over the last couple of weeks i have notices that one up front does not work for us as we dont have a player capable of doing that role. I think the game change when lennon said * it and stuck a couple of stikers on. Against good teams like man u, arsenal or any good european team you a just inviting the team on to you.

team only seemed to come to life for the last 20 mins in both games don't know if lennon wanted them to concentrate on defending to see if they could work together, still dont see the midfield working properly get dragged out of position too easily and still let teams run off them at times we had 8 across the back and both arsenal and lyon were walking through with ease. same probs as last season only upside is teams in spl are nowhwere near arsenal and lyon

Juarez was all over the park.....Great attitude and engine on the guy...looking forward to him really doing well for us this season....All in all I thought it was a decent weekend for us in these friendlies. we came from behind against Lyon and got a credible draw....second half against Arsenal we made a pretty good fist of it....Once the players gel a bit more we could be a decent team this season.:celt_2:

Juarez was excellent, Ki was good, Center halves did all right...of the full backs though only Cha looked up to it.....Hinkel, Mulgrew and Twardzik all very poor defensively.....I really hope we get a LB before the season starts.

positive signs for the season ahead though

Has anyone seen the replay son sky Sports News?

The replays on the SSN for Arsenal and the guy said Cha du ri scored the second although we all know it was Ki seung young. Why oh why do these * always * up players names when they don't play in England or even have played in SPL. I do remember an occasion wher Dean Windass * Robbo's name.

Bunch of twats. Supposed to be professional sports journalists and can't even get names right

Zaluskas - Good shot stopper, but was poor for the goal. Need a true no. 1
Cervi - Didn't have much to do. Bit concerned about his handling.
Hinkel - Can't cope with pace, but not match fit. Can't really knock our most consistent performer of last season.
Cha - Looks the business. Tenacious, aggressive, good distribution. Keep it up!
Hooiveld - Dominating performance. Coached Rogne through the game.
Rogne - This lad's ready. Get him in.
Mulgrew - No pace, no positional awareness, but will do a job in the SPL.
Crosas - Played well for half an hour, but faded badly. Still like him though.
Ki - Decent performance. Still daunders on the ball for too long, but his distribution was mostly intelligent.
Murphy - Is not a winger.
Juarez - Got better as the match wore on. Settling in well and was in about everything. MOTM.
Sammy - Changed the game. Plays better when he's angry (as showed after his pen miss).
    MAF - Made an impact.
Rasmatazz - No service. Felt sorry for him. Needs a partner in attack, because he's not mobile enough to play up top alone.
Maloney - Decent game. Needs to make his play flow a bit better though. Held on to the ball for too long. Good effort, but will probably get injured soon!

Positive fightback and a good performance all-round I thought. We showed heart, especially in the 2nd half which was sorely lacking last year.

    * me, that was one * of a last 20mins, our supporters were brilliant, outsang Arsenal's by a mile... I was just above the Celtic end with my Celtic top on, along with another couple of Celtic fans who bought tickets from the Arsenal website...
