out of that lot last night i think that sammi did not do too much wrong, the battle was in the middle with us coming off second best
we could not get the ball to him our midfileders became cluggers for one night
and i am not a sammi fan

 

i honestly thought braga were a better outfit than that last night! a very average team imo their goalie seems their best player. we played that in freindly mode still! but prepare for the team to be wakend up next week at parkhead. not saying we will do them 4 nil as i dont think we will but we will beat them.

 

huge disappointment,bad goals to lose...2 from set pieces is poor..
Like to see a cb signed asap we have been crying out for a quality cb now for a couple of seasons...if we get that player in a(Ramis or St Ledger) or some one else I think we can build and kick on this season.

 

i don't think a lot of celtic fans thought it would be easy.your team finished second in a good league.we are not daft.but in saying that you will be in for a shock when we meet again will be a completely different game with a full parkhead behind the bhoys but i still think braga will go through.we lack creativity and unless mcgeady plays we will be lucky to get 2

 

If anything we gave Braga too much respect. It's as if we were scared of the ball and Braga and booted it away at any given opportunity.

Braga were good and deserved the win but we were shocking.

 

Theres another important thing. Last night we played very carefully cos we didnt want to conceded any goals. Now we will be more relaxed but very concentrated.

Its true that average we have around 12/13 thousand and we have around 25 thousand members only. Many are kids...
But considering the ticket prices... the cheapest one for a member was 15eur and if a member bought a 2nd ticket would be 25eur and general public 50eur. The minimum wage in Portugal is 475eur a month. Now thats shocking! That doesnt explain all but its reality.

Exactly! So imagine a family of 4... And now likewise allover europe theres loads of unemployement and Braga region was truly affected.

quality over quantity...our away support is louder than our home most of the time.but wait till you see a full house at parkhead,if you haven't before.it is something else.

 

No need at all for all the hysteria. This is a team of strangers and lots of players still to play. We will need to finish our signing spree and then play about 4 or 5 competitive games before we form a team. The entire side didnt work as a unit because of this and IMO made some very decent players look poor. I have seen this phenomenon many many times in football. Give them time. I think we actually have gathered a nice mix of players and Lenny right now (on paper at least) is doing well. Please give it time and judge this team maybe in September at the earliest and even then have some patience because a month is not a lot of time for even good players to become a team. The CL game is at least a few weeks too early for us. Its Artmedia all over. They slumped but that side went on to win by miles and IMO play the best season of quality football that we have seen in the last 7 years.

 

I wasnt at the game but I have heard that the north of Portugal is really beautiful.

 

here... just back from the park, and am nackered! lol but i got talking with a fellow celtic man there and he seemed genuinly upset over that display last night.
I tried the "its not over yet m8" but he was having none of it it. He started with why McGeady wasnt playing.. and for the first time even I was * off at the fact he could have played! the guy was raging with the board for stopping it (which I cant see unless its close to happnin)! Did they stop it? Stupily I asked him how did he know and he went off on one..."Look son!, if your in the qualifiers for any football competition you play your best players regardless! offcourse they did!" with a look that i thought he was gonna punch me lol he then stated that Celtic are gambling on the McGeady sale and that whoever is bidding for him have Celtic over a barrel and could easily * up the amount etc etc..and if they really wanted him they should have bidded for him earler!
apart from here on Talk Celtic, I dont get to talk about Celtic much apart fae ma dad due to all the friends and the rest of the family all rankers fans lol so to have a wee chat like that was refreshing and scary lol
I honestly think and hope that if no deal has been done by the next leg we should tell whoever it is that wants him to * off and come back in January!

What would you have them do ? bury their fecking head in the sand and pretend everything is fine when it is blatantly not. We went through this with Mowbray, and everyone at the time gave him their backing only for it all to end in tears.
When things are bad there is every justification for saying so and last night was bad.
We all want Lenny to succeed and I'm sure he has taken on board some of the failings in the game last night.

Green like Scotland, nice people, good food, cheaper than the Algarve but also not as touristic as the Algarve...
I think my hometown is very beautifull and a nice place to live.
And our stadium is unique!

Back to the football, Braga never buys an expensive player. We are a selling team. The most we paid for a player was 700 thousand euros. We dont have any "names" in our squad but we always play as a team Apparently (so i heard) we have Luis Aguiar back (a fantastic nr 10) although I dunno if he can play next week.
I understand your frustration. You didnt expect to lose like you did. But I really think our players wont shake that much with the atmosphere. We have an experienced team and i know how manager will prepare them mentally for whatever comes. And although is not impossible to score 4 goals against us is not that easy...
Well I hope both teams play a good match and dont make the mistakes of last night.

 

The pity is that you never saw the real Celtic. We had so many players who have never played before or have only played one or two games before- think there were 6 or 7 such players. We will be a lot better in a month or two.
