Hooper is just solid, wouldn't say he's muscly but he's very strong and has a good physical presence on the pitch.

Hope he hits the goalscoring form again soon

You appreciate the likes of Stokes and Hooper even more when you see the huns and Big Laffertys running about like a blinded Ostrich and cost more than them both combined.

Hes not massive, he just knows how to put his body about which alot of strikers dont know how to do, the bigger ones more so dont have a clue that they can use their body more, the likes of tevez, rooney use their body well hence they are so good at holding the ball up, winning possesion. This is what hooper does!

For the chances he's missed, he's still getting the goals. The thing about Hooper is he isn't just a goalscorer, on sunday against Utd he stood out more than anyone for me. He really impresses me with the ball at his feet especially under pressure, he comes deep looking for the ball but also manages to get into the poacher positions, as much as I have been impressed with Stokes, Hooper stands out that much more due to the work effort on top of his goals.

Hooper has a frame of a boxer. He has broad shoulders, he may not have a lot of muscle but has a wide frame which makes him harder to knock off and gives him better balance.
Skippy just had a big * that he used to hold up play and whenever he got a slight touch he would get us a free-kick, Skippy and Hooper had completely different builds but both used them very well!

its what hooper does in and around the box that i think is important as well as his goals. stokes has been class as well. he has a precise strike on him.

Forwards come in all shapes and sizes.
    Examples:

David Villa - built like the gable end of a fiver but is fast and intelligent!
Dimitar Berbatov - Solid big guy but moves like a lounge lizard - BUT, intelligence is his key attribute!

The common denominator for a class striker is intelligence/timing - which Hooper has!

Add a good work ethic into the mix, and I don't really care what shape he is.

agree, but I personally dont think Berbatov is solid. But I agree, it's trivial really, end of the day, he's got a lot of 'game' and the guy knows how to play- mixing it with strong defenders in scotland too.

Built or not, his core strength is fantastic.

I think big Gary Kenneth is possibly the strongest (as in physical strength) defender in Scotland just now and he couldn't budge Hooper on the weekend.

Zander Diamond is a strong guy as well and Hooper's brished him aside a lot of times this season.

Too look at someone's body to determine their strength is often deceptive. For instance:

Looks can be deceiving. I think Hooper is deceptively strong.

I'd love to see a compilation of all the times that happened, it must have been on about 4 or 5 occasions. Every time Diamond challenged Hooper in a 50-50 he ended up on his *. He must have nightmares about him.

The thing I love about Hooper is that if he misses a chance it doesn't bother him he's always there to take the next chance when it comes! Fancy him for a couple today!:shamrock:
