Really? We need to have a Geography/Modern Culture lesson for some of the lads...including those who thought Mexico was in South America

Arab is a panethnicity like hispanics or latinos. It just means his ancestors were from a country in Arabia but he was born in Israel.

Aye a knew how you could get an Arab Israeli lol, a was just joking knowing that their two sets of people who traditionally dont like each other.

Hooper- Seen some of his goals and he likes to go and beat his man, something i really like in a striker. Nothing better than beating a man before a goal.

To be fair, who was Larsson when he signed? Not saying this guy will be as good as Henrik, but really we know just as much about Hooper as we did Larsson.

Larsson came from Feyenoord, a pretty decent club. * knows what league is Hooper's former club in.

Leone you're really coming off as arrogant here... if Hooper were from the J or K-league you'd be professing your undying allegiance to him.

He came from a league with many (if not most) teams better than those in the K or J or even Dutch leagues (though the top tier of the Dutch league are, indeed, a cut above the Championship and much of the Premiership).

Hooper has shown he can cut it in a competitive league so take that at face value

I think Championship is *, and we should not look at players, there.

The Championship is ten times better than the SPL. I'd rather watch one of their league games than any of the rest of the teams in our league.

A lot of good players are found from lower leagues and make their way up into top teams all over the world....IMO the championship is a very competitive league and miles better than our league.

Hooper been given this opportunity because he has proven he is consistently good at what he does at a level similar to our league. He is untested against the bigger teams around europe but he has shown raw ability which can take the boy far.

He is getting my vote for top goalscorer in the SPL this year thats for sure.

Think I will have a wager on Biram Kayal as my player of the year as well (I hope he signs) !! :50:

didnt say i had a problem with it ... "pal" :50:

end of the day its a number, means nothing. just a big number looks a bit out of place.

only ever seen really high numbers in places like italy, portugal, spain and germany. always remember few lads in porto having high numbers. just think it looked odd.

sorry for having an opinion :97:

There was quite alot of talk about him at the end of the last season as he was doing well in the championship and how Scunthorpe would make a lot of money from him as they had signed him for something like 175k. Also for him to be playing at a team that finished 20th in the championship and still come third top goalscorer is a decent result for him as well. With hopefully a better midfield behind him he can score for fun with us.

Those that are saying he will be on the bench against Braga, I think you're right, but not for the whole game. I think if the striker combination that Lenny puts on the pitch isn't scoring goals (or enough goals), then he will put Hoop on.

Trust me, this was a good signing, and he WILL score us some good goals, especially in the games that aren't Old Firm matches, which losing (to those wee clubs) is why we lost the league.
