    Possibly not, but at this moment in time it's where we find ourselves.....The days of the Hartson, Sutton signings are gone. Lenny has decided to go for Stokes who has proven he can score goals at this level....He isn't a box office signing.....Box office signings will not be knocking on the door of a club who were put out of Europe by Utrecht a mid-table Dutch outfit....Who incidently just got humped 0-4 in the league at the weekend. Stokes can do a job for us.

    I would take Stokes for £1m but if hibs are asking for double that or even four times that amount as has been quoted in the papers I would tell them where to go!

    If his goals help us to win the league, the 2m will be worth it. At 22, he has his best years ahead of him as well.

    Why send out Rass, McGowan and Hutchy on loan when you can keep one of them instead of buying Stokes.

    Unless you think stokes is better than them all. In which case why send them all on loan, why don't we just punt them.

    If the club thought Stokes was that good, why didn't they buy him last year for 500,000 thou instead of the 2 Mil Hibs want now?

    Our board haven’t got a clue about finance I don't think. The amount of money we squander on a regular basis is becoming a joke.

    To think they go on about not affording the salary to bring or keep certain players when they do things like this annoys me.

    People are banging on about stokes having * stats and trying to say he has not got a good goalscoring record, I beg to differ!!

    He is only 22, his goals per game ratio has improved year by year, he has screwed the nut as he has become a man and he is hungry for success!

    He played out wide in the early stages of his career and he will get more chances with us. He is a natural finisher and has pace to burn and I see him forming a formidable partnership with hooper from day 1.

    Is he the big name striker everyone wanted? NO!

    Will he score 25+ goals a season? YES!!

    If he bangs in the goals, he will become a big name striker and we don't pay a big fee to get him we GET a big fee selling him in 4-5 years time.
