Scoring 20+ a season for a mid-table SPL side is much tougher than doing so for one of the Old Firm sides!

You don't get the same service. Your teammates don't have the same quality. You're not as involved in a game because you don't have as much possession therefore when chances do come your way you need to be very aware because you don't know when the next one will come.

Why do you think strikers at the likes of Inverness and St. Mirren never score over 20 goals a season? Yet, if you put them in the Celtic side they probably would (if you gave them the same amount of appearances that the smaller sides do).

 

don't know what to think about him, not seen him start in the spl

only thing i can comment on is his record really not the best really, ras had a better record, but never got a chance, and would rather give him a chance before murphy, thats about it really

but i will wait and see what murphy can do, wait till the end of the season really to make a judgement on him

yes he hooiveld was brung in by mogga but he got his chance with lennon, and to be fair he has not been all that good, he talks a great game but not seen have a great game yet.....

mulgrew was cheap and cost us nothing in a few lennon said he wanted players at the back who where big and strong, but he has had a very, and i mean very bad start but he will get his chance to play again unlike big ras

again you can't say stokes is better than big ras, he never got a chance 2 first team starts what else do you want from the big guy?

 

stokes is utter pish ! if we spend money on him its a disgrace ! look at his goal record in england when he was upped a level . all this nonsence about if you score goals with hibs you will score a lot more here. when hibs play they dont have 10 men behind a ball to break down. forwards with hibs and other spl teams get loads of space to play in. when you play with celtic and rangers you dont get that space. your movement and finishing must be at better level than a bog standard spl player like stokes ! remember killen ? didnt he score a barrowload for hibs before we signed him? 4 goals for sunderland in about 40 apps ?? 1 in 25 games for crystal palace and sheff utd on loan ?? havnt we got enough squad players at the club that we dont need to sign another nobody that is no better than what we have got?? embarrassing if this deal goes through !!!!!!!!!!

 

Since when did we expect 20 year olds to be at the top of their game? Players need time to develop.

A certain Scott McDonald was 'just' an SPL goalscorer and he did alright for us.

stokes has found his level at hibs,lets move for the israeli and someone else,dont want to start paying crazy money for an spl player

 

we buy murphy for 1.5 milion and sell sheridan for 350 yet trapattoni plays sheridan before murphy it does not make sense tthey are similar player im scratching my head to why we bought him our first signing mid season too if he was deadline day that would be bad enough its a shocking waste we could have used funds elsewhere

 

Why would he hardly get a start? we have murphy and sammy and thats it, who else is going to play? We need to stop dreaming were going to get this 6+ striker in, its not gonna happen, keane would rather play for newcastle ffs, im not a great fan of stokes but he was one of the highest scorers in the spl last season, everyone banging on about how good hooper is after what 3 games? ive no doubt he's a great player but he's scored roughly the same amount of goals as stokes in a comparable league but stokes is *?

 

Yes I would say the same about the israeli if it was a month ago but we have started the league and need a striker who is going to come in and bang the goals in ..Sheckter would need all sorts of paperwork , it would be 2-3 weeks before we saw him .
Stokes knows the league knows the players it would be an easier transition

 

I agree. I also think its wrong to usew stokes ratio in england as he was pretty young while playing there. Hes still developing as a player while scoring for fun for hibs
