Silvestre is crap in my opinion. Gallas played very well alongside Vermaelen last season I thought. Well, at the beginning of the season anyway and when he wasn't injured.

    Yes, it's a word I like. :icon_mrgreen:

And if we get any Vuvuzela Rage incidents in the coming season, I can see it taking on an unexpected, literal meaning. :56:

Would absolutely him at Celtic, not had a pacey CB since big Bobo. In saying that there's not a hope in *'s chance we'll meet his wage demands.

Had a quick look on Wiki, his goals to games ratio for Arsenal is better than Daryl Murphy's at Sunderland. :icon_mrgreen:

not sure if anyone has posted this, but the Herald are saying Gallas has stated he would be interested in a move and senior Celtic figures have stated he has contacted the club.

Now, i wouldn't get too excited though.

His agent has been in contact with Juventus, Malaga and Panathanaikos.

With Pana out of the way, that just leaves Juve, and Malaga.

I'd think he'd probably like to join Juve, but who knows.

Also, i doubt he will be on 25k, he was on 80k at Arsenal!

he would be a quality player, but he is a * mentalist.

Nah, in all honesty it is never going to happen.

The reporter probably saw Gallas was a free agent, Lennon had said he was in the market for a CB, and just though 'why not', and asked him about it.

Lenny, in turn, probably though, 'Hey what a great Idea, Ill get peter lawell to contact his agent'' :56:

This is a proper no * about signing. If this happens then we could be looking at one of the best celtic squads in a while. Wish we could of kept big Artur though :(

Just read something in the herald that hes interested in speaking with us, progress at least. Although it might go a bit like...
"How much dough you wanting Willie?"
    "How much you got?"
"Wrong answer, let's just sign Kelvin Wilson or someone pish"

Hope not, I say get him signed, get him against them stinking gooners in the champions league and plant a few off his back into the net... I think we owe them saps a few

Compared to any other CB we've had over the last 5 years, definitely.

Would agree with that. Big Bobo was far faster than either El McManus or Caldwell. Gallas would bring the pace back to our backline.

    ???

Balde was slow as a month in the jail.

I mean mibbe he was half-decent over 100M, but defenders don't need to run 100M, they need to be fast over 5 or 10M. Still remember him getting humiliated against Artmedia. 3 seconds to react, and another 5 to get up to cruising speed. :38:

Bobo wasn't that fast off the mark but he had long strides so he could keep up with most of the nippier players in a long sprint. Plus when he put in a slide tackle you had about 24m of leg to dodge lol :icon_mrgreen: On topic though, i'd like to see Gallas here but not holding any hopes.

Erm he couldn't agree a contract extension with arsenal because he wanted more than 80k..

Why are people even entertaining the idea he'd come up here? :97:

Genuinely no idea where you and Format have got the idea that Bobo was as 'slow as a month in the jail' from. Would be interested to know what CB we've had over the last 5 years who you think is faster than him

He's easily been the fastest CB we've had over the past 5 years, not even any doubt about it. Could even go back 7 or 8 years and we haven't had a faster CB than him.
