Sporting Club Braga vs Celtic

This was probably worse than any performance we had last season. Everyone was excited about these new signings, but to be honest even if we had Real Madrid's squad we'll still be playing as bad as this.

The thing is, we now have to win 3-0 at Parkhead to bring it to extra-time, and we have to win 4-0 to win the tie. I can't see any of those scores happening.

they players were sent out with negative team tactics ringing in their ears!!!

how can you send your own team out with such a negative attitude

and they played like it absolutely no ambition in other words they done what the coach asked for.

that was absolutely pathetic was really lookin forward to the return leg as it will be my first game ever with a season card but the atmosphere will be * now, theres no hope of a come back and im absolutely raging

 

I thought when the draw was made far too many on here were under estimating Braga. Mulgrew as i thought no better than Danny Fox and badly out his depth and Brown words fail me i couldn't tell you what he offers to the team. From last season the same problems remain poor defensively,don't have a clinical striker and we hgave lost Boruc and possibly Mcgeady who was massively missed tonight.

 

Ah good to see Samaras getting the old scapegoat treatment.

He worked hard and put in a decent shift, if not a vintage display.

But come off it people there were much MUCH worse showings in a Celtic jersey. In fact start with the entire midfield and add Mulgrew and I would say those were the mainculprits.

Special mention to Loovens (and the entire defence) for letting a cross into the 6 yard get to knee height. BASICS!!!!

No change from wgs or tm, same old back and sideways boring * if prizes were given out for passing to death we would be world champions, and zonal marking,too simple to have a man on front and back posts,players looking at the ball instead of where the * is anybody.

Pathetic display. Not one shot on target until injury time. What the * are loovens, brown and sammy still doing in the team? Mulgrew looked out his depth as well. Know it's his first game but he's an average spl player.

Until the introduction of Murphy, we were playing long balls without a striker capable of receiving them. With tactics, you have to be consistent. We weren't, that's why the poor showing in the attacking department.

We lost because we are a * team who haven't got a clue. We didnt have one good chance, referee has got nothing to do with that result

 

ive not looked thro the whole thread to see what every1 has been saying . but after watching the full 90 mins

if we continue to play mulgrew at lb this season we are giving every team that we play against the easiest of team talks and tatic selection

Ah well. Let's take some positives. This is a new team, takes time to gel. I'm sure we all remember Gordon Strachan's first European escapade. We had 7 players in there tonight who are either new signings or didn't play much at all last season, plus we've still got players to come back like Hooper, McGeady, McGinn etc. We may not make the Champions League this year, but let's be honest, looking at the teams in the next qualifying round it was never really a possibility. Let's just give Lenny and the bhoys time, I have complete confidence that he can get them fired up for next season, the huns have lost a fair few of their best players, so now we can concentrate on the domestic front and bring the title home to paradise!

 

We have to believe, but in all honesty i think were out of europe, giving that lot something to sing about...

tbh we,re not ready by a long way to compete at this level the europa cup is our level for the time being and even thats a struggle !! we have to give the players at the club time to gel and heres hoping they lose the stupid idea of selling hinkle and aidan cos theyre both badly needed !! btw lenny anytime you want to sign a proper left back thats good with me m8
