    What do you think folks?

Must be alright to get in the draw from Portugal. Looking at the other teams though, on paper probably the best we could have hoped for.

    celtic vs sporting braga

So there you have it, Celtic have been drawn against SC Braga from Portugal. Braga came second in last season's Portuguese League. Hearts beat them in 2004 in the Uefa Cup, 3-1 to Hearts in the home leg and then 2-2 away.

former Portugal defender Fernando Couto is their gaffer and this is his first managerial job, taking over only last month. So it's two inexperienced managers versus each other.

what do you guys think about this i think this is a good draw for us:shamrock:

They are alot stronger than 2004. I think they are bearable but we need a few more players in.

Very good passing team. They can be roughed up though.

I was on a Braga forum and they are raging they got us:56:
Heres a quote "Can, as many teams in the second pot of * and we had to go into right away with the best. What kind of luck ... But we believe that is possible."

We could have got worse, but we aren't so strong that we can take it for granted that this is an 'easy' draw, should still be tough.

Yeah very fair point, but at least there is more of a belief among us now with some of our signings so far. But like you said lets not take them for granted just got to remember what happined the the huns a few seasons ago

    It's a great draw.

Braga have a fairly ordinary squad - 16 South Americans in it and not one cap between them - their forwards have no pedigree of note and their stadium is 30,000 capacity.

No excuses for not getting through this one.

It could have been a whole lot worse - Fenerbace, Ajax, Kiev and Zenit St Petersburg were all much harder. I am delighted we don't have to trek to Turkey, Russia or the Ukraine...Portugal will be hot, but if we can grind out a draw, we can take them at Celtic Park.

Auxerre would be nice...but Spurs, Werder Bremen, Sampdoria and Seville are also possibilities for the next round - the play offs!

Spurs and Seville the biggest threats IMO.

TBH we have to focuse solely on this game as we have to progress into the next round to guarantee the safety net of the Europa League.
