STRIKER URGENTLY REQUIRED

Yeah don't think the Fox transfer was all about ability though. Something behind the scenes I reckon resulted in his departure.

 

Strikers, not LB's people.

 

it defo wasn't solely based on ability. I think it was about cutting losses and bringing money in for Keane- or at least it certainly would have contributed. Who knows he may have improved ? I mean there's Papac, who some of you don't rate (he's nothing special, but ok) signed by an unsuccessful manager in PLG and has stuck around and cememented himself as a good SPL LB- or at least hasn't really been found out yet, same in Europe too. Maybe Fox would have done that- maybe.

Striker is more important though i think Mulgrew could improve under Mjallby and he has alrwady proven himself attacking-wise, he just needs to tighten up a little.

 

badly need 2 strikers and sell sammy and fortune.get bellamy and hooper,rosenborg on a free the strikers we have had recently cant score thats why we badly need ones that can score

 

tbh, i think we need 1-2 more strikers nevermind who we sell. So if we sell someone, we will definatly need to replace, because our youngsers are definatly not up the task

we only have 3 strikers in my eyes:
Fortune, Samaras, Rasmussen.. so would rather add to that list, than lose from it. And i know unless we give game time to our younger players, then we will never know if they can make the step up, but it's just far too risky at the moment, we're having a few changes and need to get the first team sorted, and then see if we can afford to drop someone for a prospect once things are going steady

 

I would hardly call Sammy a striker. We do need 2. One just won't cut it. We need big Raz to turn it on!

 

I would say we only have 1 natural out and out striker!! One that could have the ability to consitantly score goals. Thats in Rasmussen.

Samaras has all the ability in the World but doesn't use it directly enough. He went on a wee charge of goals at the start of the 08/09 season till he got injured. I still think we are capable of bringing in a striker that can do more than what Samaras can do and i think Lenny will address that situation.

Proven goal scorer??? larsson wasnt!!

Whats all this * a keep reading about a proven goal scorer??? Do we really need a proven goal scorer??? Was henrik larsson a proven goal scorer??? I dont think he was until he came to us, people keep moaning about getting bellamy or keane in and dont get me wrong that would be fantastic but what we need is some * that can strike a ball and score tap ins, because imo at a club like ours CHANCES WILL BE CREATED IN ABUNNDANCE!!! Just look at k, boyds record.


He was a garbage player but he found the net because he lazed around inside the box, and got plenty of luck, he also kept things simple and rolled the ball into the net, we seem to panic, well at least last season we did numerous times we panicked and couldnt finish tap, ins and it was frustrating and very strange seeing us blow chance after chance. Why cant we get some * into a similar job, Now av played football and its * easy to finish. samaras or fortune cant do it, There both useless in front of goal, rassmusen seems to be in the mould of penalty box player, but am not sure if he,s even good enough to score 20 a season or not.


Anyway my main point is a dont think we need a proven goal scorer,

Larsson wasnt before he came ?? The fact of the matter is you could go out and pay a fortune for some * and they wont get you goals, they might not settle, they might loss there form, they might not suit scottish football, what we need is some * in that can finish simple chances and get into good positions to get on the end of them simple chances.


It doesnt need to be a big name imo although a really hope we do sign keane as a lot will mention he is a proven goal scorer, but am just saying if its not a big name well a hope too * its some * who can finnish and not somebody who drifts out to the wings, and floats about the middle of the3 park, as wee seen all season from the likes of sammy and fortune, the wingers will do that for us!!!

yes mate we do need a player who can rattle them in for us. dougt fortune and sammy will help out much.

 

because nobody wants a randomer who may someday score a few goals, we want a big name who will score goals

Anno nobody wants a randomer but when you think about it thats what larsson was, a had never heard of him, Now av played a lot of football and a was a striker now its not hard to find space in about the box, all it takes is cleverness to find space away from the defenders, Its quite easy if you know what your doing, and the chances we create against spl defences is probly on average 10-15 times a game????

We need a decent clever striker imo, someone with maybe a bit of pace, the know how to finish 1 0n 1 with a keeper and some * that gets him self in decent positions to finish!!!!

 

well i would still prefer a robbie keane to a gary hooper, i dont know about u

 

Aye same here ov couse a would mate, but all in all we could end up getting someone in from any were in the world somebody we have never heard of and he could still do the buissness on a fraction of keanes wages and transfer fee

Am just struggling to come to terms to how the * can a club like celtic not get a quality striker in the door, saying that even a half decent 1 would do at this rate

i know what you mean, but next season is an important one, and we need a top class striker, who will do the business for us now, we can still look for a potential future goal scorer, but from a fans point of few, we need a keane

 

larsson was 1 in a million mate, we do need a proven goalscorer who can hit the ground running!
