    Really?

I've not seen him myself but I've heard a lot of good things about him. Scored a lot of goals in a poor Scunthorpe team.

He's a good young goalscorer who wont in my view cost more than two mill. I'd liked to have signed stokes but i could see Hibs holding out for more alot more than 2 mill.

:56:Gone from 2,4 to 1,5 in the space of 10mins gotta love it . If we could get him for 1.5 mill i would be delighted . but i think Stokes would suit us better ,

good scoring record for a poor team in the championship, over 1 in 2. compare that to stokes when he was down there

    Sunderland36(3)2008–2009→ Sheffield United (loan)12(0)2009→ Crystal Palace (loan)13(1)

you cant argue with stokes record in the spl though, but i do like the look of Hooper

i reckon this guy would do well in the spl and unlike most people i'm opposed to signing stokes - as firstly he has already he turned us down and although he's done well at Hibs he had poor scoring records in the championship and he might find it difficult to adjust to life at a bigger club like Celtic, just my opinion though... hope this is true about Hooper though :icon_mrgreen:

or scored a decent amount of goals in a * league

he is average to poor at best, we could do a lot better with £2mill

Hooper is still young as * and coming here could be real good for him, he could become a goalscoring machine for us.. and he's worth 2 million in today's market. If this is all we can afford right now, its worth it!

    better then the championship yeh

i dont think a £2mil rated scunthorpe striker is the goalscorer we need when for an extra £4mil we could potentially get robbie keane for example

Problem is the 6million does not cover his wages aswell , Do you want us to end up in the state of Rangers ?

CELTIC have won the race to sign Scunthorpe ace Gary Hooper.

The striker will have a medical on Monday before completing a £2.4million switch.
Middlesbrough were also tracking the 22-year-old hitman, who scored 50 goals in 95 games for Scunny after joining them from Southend for a bargain £175,000 two years ago.
But Hooper has decided to join Celtic after their offer was last night accepted by the Championship club.
