i dont know much about hooper but i think we need to buy an experienced goal scorer and for me with the age hooper is and the fact he is with scunthorpe he doesnt tick all the boxes. so i would forget about him.

 

Eh ? Hooper has been scoring goals for fun for a crap team so i think he is a goal scorer and he would score forfun up here

 

Not sure I agree with this. Yes he scores goals for Scunthorpe but we really need to be aiming higher and looking at adding real quality to the squad. A team full of Championship players is just that, a Championship level team and I do not consider £600 a season to watch a * Championship side good value for money! We are in danger of falling off of the european radar with a signing policy like this. Gary Hooper? Kelvin Wilson? Peter Whittingham? who the * are these guys!

 

Eh think you should do a bit more diggin on hooper before writing him of, he knows where the net is and hits it on target ( what more do you want ) as for wilson i agree he's a diddy (in my opinion ) and dont know anything about Whittingham to confirm or deny if hes any good!! I am also VERY * of that in my mind we blew 1.5 million on Murphy. I also agree that our sights should be set higher BUT im pretty sure Lennon /Lawel / Desmond are not sitting there going i think we could sign Aguero but na * it lets go for hooper instead and just * of the fans. look at ledley / Jaurez / Cha, they all look like good signings. If a footballer is to the standard that u and i and most likely everyone else wants at the club chances are they'll be gettin more money than we can afford to give them in the epl and they aint likely to take a pay cut just to play for the mighty hoops im afraid.

 

Good player but i would rather have Stokes.

Whittingham just got championship top scorer from midfield and had a belter year before too. I agree with the falling off european radar comments by settling for championship players. But I do say snap up Whittingham before he becomes a premiership talent anyway and gets status. He * on Lawrence and is younger but everyone seems to love him, another I'm not keen on. Although the irish international connection is obv welcomed
Wilson is crap

 

stokes only scores goals self admitedly when he gets a run in the side,,hence his poor spell at sunderland,,whould he get a game every week for us..id rather leave the guy to get a game at hibs if not..deeks didnt manage and wasted away at us...bigger name strikers are needed.

 

FFs guys do you ever get tired of juding players by who they play for or in which league ???? Lok at evertone davie moyes has a team that is litteed with players from the championship and unless im mistaken lescot joined everton from the championship and moved for 20 million + so sheesh lets get over it . Judge a player once hes here and on what he does for celtic we have had plenty high profile flops and players not getting games for clubs who became stars with us so IF lenny is looking at him or other players lets give them a chance as every signing is a risk but lower cost ones arent as big risks as say tommy g

 

Why do fans on here claim Wilson is crap? Based on what? He is a main player for his club

 

Stokes would be a starter every day of the week here when fit ,

 

Stokes is a fair better striker than riordan. He would start every week for us

 

sign stokes then we have two sunderland rejects as forwards so are we really looking to have a striking partnership who cant make it in a mediorce premership team.

 

Stokes is proven in spl. That's what I base my opinion on

 

* you talking about we dont need strikers that can score goals in the English prem , we need players that can score goals in the spl , Stokes does this , giving him better service he would get here compared to what he got , or gets at Falkirk , then hibs , he would score , 25/30 goals a season here ,

 

Sunderland also had good quality strikers ahead of him

 

stokes can score goals in the spl but hooper is scoring more goals in a better leauge so he would get more goals in the spl
