Seriously the board need to whip an ace out of their sleeves here!

We NEED a Keano a Bellamy someone a special talent/player who can be relied upon to score goals on a consistant basis AND promote good play in the team the same as the previous (well most anyway) incumbants of the most famous of numbers at CP.

Who else is maybe an option for this slot?

And how much do you think Lenny would allocate outta his budget to fill this position taking into account the transfer money we should get for Aiden, Hinkel and the money already brought in from Artur&Mick?

For talking sake only:- in a previous thread discussing the budget i thought that the seasons budget would be the usual £7-8m plus the £4m combined transfer fees for Boruc-McManus possible £2-3m for Hinkel
another £8m for Aiden and £2m for Sammy minus the signings already made Mulgrew free, Cha free, Ledders free their wages covered by the wages freed up by Boruc McManus and the wage paid to N'Guemo last season so no real dent in the budget there per se, and the £1.3m outlay for Murphy and £3m for Juarez also remove the £4m club debt deficet from the budget ('cos we all know that comes before success at CP) that would leave a potential £16.7m in the kitty!! now we all know that lenny isnt gonna get all that dough to spend but how much should he expect? i believe that he SHOULD get every single penny brought in from the players HE has allowed to be sold on! Discuss!!

we definitely need 2 strikers i.e hooper and a bellamy or a michael owen and 2 defenders CB, LB and the top notch striker will get the famous number 7

I'd rather they didn't give it out than give it to someone who maybe doesn't deserve it.

It doesnt matter how good a player is. We have been going 122 years, yet the 'TALISMEN', we could count on 1 hand. Dalglish, Johnstone, Larsson.

I dont care what number a player gets. If he bangs in the goals, he could wear number 86 for all I care.

Am hoping for a big name however a cant see it from our signings so far! Lets hope Lawell pulls another one out the bag.

 

and your absolutley spot on here mate id rather the jersy was left on the rack than filled by an imposter this hooper character aint the one!! the number seven maybe just a number but its a special one in the clubs history and an important one in my eyes every team needs a talisman im just waiting on ours!!

Are we going to go into a season for the first time in ages without a number 7. i thought hooper would have got it but he took number 88. maybe hes going to give it to someone who currently was in 1st team but who?
