The reason why he would want to come to celtic is that even though celtic is the biggest team in scotland its more ikely that he will get alot more playing time than if he signs for a suqad like arsenal or man u we have other players like caros vela that plays only 3 or 5 minutes a game if he gets lucky, so in celtic he would have everything a fantastic team with so rich history and at the same time he could be one of the top players of the team or even the league

 

i honestly can not see any yet, he has speed a great shot, and also skills he can really dribble one or two guys and take a shot or send a long pass with out any problems, the only thing i can see is like many other mexican players is that some times it costs them to adapt to new things specially when they find them selfs alone and he being so young and in a totally different culture and country might be hard at first but in the other hand seems like he has a different mentality so hopefully that helps him go trhrough it.

I think he's an incredible talent and I'm a US fan. That should tell everybody here enough really. :icon_mrgreen: I've been suggesting some of the Mexican players for ages but people have always been * on CONCACAF saying it's too easy and the players aren't challenged enough. The Mexican league is one of the best 3 leagues in the Americas, easily (with Brazil and Argentina), and with the Libertadores and Sudamericana they get big game experience that is every bit as important as the Champions League.

I'd say he's better than McGeady as well.

 

Not from the Americas but we've got a guy in Marc Crosas that grew up in the Barca system.

This is true. We'll see though as it is the silly season where we are linked to everyone who has ever pulled on a jersey and kicked a ball.

I just can't shake the feeling that we'll be trounced to a signing of his potential by the likes of the Newcastles/Wolves/Bolton's of the EPL who can pay more in wages than us.

Not really.... we are not so "romantic".... I'll explain next.

OK... facts:

Lazio was the first interested and so was ManU, but they ask for a loan, and a loan is not going to happen, not a chance. So... West Ham and again Lazio offered to buy him. I think this is where Celtic's name first appeared. So even though many clubs have shown interest, there are no offers in my team's offices, and it seems that Celtic has offered the highest bid.

Now the non-facts:

In Mexico we have this problem, guys do well in WC, then some teams buy the guys and then they spend a year on the bench and return to Mexico at the end of that year. Why? dunno.... they usually do well (average) but they prefer to line up argentinians and brazilians.... anyway, very disappointing for all Mexico.

So lately, Mexico will only sell with some restrictions on the contract. For example, Chicharito's contract stipulates that HE HAS TO PLAY in the first team for the first year (preventing loans to inferior divisions or other leagues). Also, we don't sell to anyone, the coach has to show interest on the player, so the player has a high chance to play. Finally we are scared about "big teams", for example, Giovanni @Tottenham or Vela @Arsenal, two of our best players that remain on the bench!! No thanks! no more "big teams" that take our finest talent to bench them

So... Celtic is a good option. Celtic is a fine team, they give youth talent a good chance to prove themselves, Lennon is said to have asked for him specifically, Celtic plays Europa or Champions, they offer REAL MONEY.

Hope thse reasons make sense!!!

thats good, not sure if barrera speaks english yet or not but that would help him alot to adapt faster

 

An added benefit is that Marc Crosas speaks English and French fluently as well, so he's a good guy to latch on to when it comes to integrating to the squad. So it's not like it'd be the two Spanish speakers off to the side but he'd be able to communicate through Marc from the beginning.

Hinkel should be able to speak some Spanish. After all he spent some time at Sevilla.
