    To be fair, the use of the British flag specifically as a fashion statement is widespread throughout Europe and Asia. In any European or Asian city or town you'll see dozens of people walking around with British flag t-shirts, bags, jumpers et al. Not because they're British: because they like the colours and the design.

    It's also long been a part of the punk and mod aesthetics so there is a subculture attached to it.

    That is not to deny your central point about the Gallaghers being British-born Britons from Britain who make use of British flags to a British audience in Britain - that was your original point, wasn't it? To drive that home? - but I think it's more nuanced than you're suggesting.

    Incidentally, since you seem so intent on basic facts, I'm sure you're aware that the Gallaghers are also Irish citizens by descent, given that both of their parents are Irish-born Irish people from, um, Ireland. It is this Irishness that Gallagher alludes to in many of the quotes posted on here, and in his support of Celtic.
