the only way aiden will be staying is if we dont recieve a decent offer for him. anything from £6.5m upwards offered will be accepted. lawell will play a bit of hard ball to get the most we can for him but if anyone daft enough to give us good dosh for him then hes off. despite what lennon says publicly about mcgeady, he isnt his biggest fan....

They aren't inviting offers. As Lennon said if an offer comes in for any player that they can't refuse a chat will be had with the player. Everyone at Celtic is for sale.

 

Anything over 4 million, and i'd let him go. Most over rated player i've ever seen at Parkhead. After 7 years, he is still doing the same step-over. He hasnt progressed in that time. Cant cross, cant shoot, cant tackle, rarely tracks back.

He hasn't said he wants to go , that's the whole point! He has never came out publically and said he wants to stay or go! The story in the papers saying that he had asked for a transfer was alot of * aswell!

O'Neill wants Aiden to replace Milner rumour

Martin O'Neill wants to take Aiden McGeady to Aston Villa if he loses James Milner to Manchester City, according to reports.

An article in the Daily Mirror suggests England international Milner is "certain to leave Villa after the World Cup" and "O'Neill has earmarked his old protege McGeady as a potential replacement".

Financially, the move would make a lot of sense for O'Neill - it is rumoured Villa will receive £30million from Man City for Milner, while McGeady will "only" set them back around £10million. Or not...after all, transfer rumours are just rumours.

Interestingly, McGeady recently signed up with agent Struan Marshall, who also represents Stewart Downing, Robbie Keane and England's world-class goalscorer Emile Heskey - though whether the move means anything is anybody's guess.

The article in the Mirror goes on to suggest the sort of contract McGeady could expect at Villa Park "around £50,000-a-week" on a four-year deal. Either those details have been plucked out of the air or somebody is doing some spinning.

At 24, it's not surprising Aiden is looking elsewhere to what see what other options are available. But perhaps he would do well to speak to Shaun Maloney before deciding to move to the Midlands...the diminutive Scotland international may have a few interesting observations to make

i dont give a * about the masses opinon mcgeady is our best natural player with skill mostly unseen in the SPL unless its mad money i would hope lenny makes him stay put!

 

It's good that he's in demand, it means that clubs will have to bid higher.

Also I wonder if MON will do us a favor by offering a generous fee considering the big bucks they'll get for Milner and his soft spot for our club

 

bye bye McGeady overrated and overhyped and has done everything he can in Scotland - with the money we can put together a team of players who actually have an end-product and produce instead of promising without ever delivering
