Hibs at Easter Road 2nd last game of the season 0-0

Hearts at home last game of the season 0-0

1 goal and we'd have been champions. Him and his 19 goals really came through for us when we needed him eh?

But hey let's not let actual facts get in the way of your arguement eh

We hardly even created a chance in either of those two games. If you're blaming Scott McDonald for our failure to score in those two matches you are greatly over-simplifying things.

gawd a lot of * going on here sheesh . as for players i have said i dont think mulgrew is what we need but hey if lenny thinks he is i bow to his greater knowledge as with any other player . as for strikers gawd we need a penalty box player ala boyd and maybe rasmussen could be that player and if he is then fortune is a good foil for him or someone else in a similar mould ala miller but we all have opinions on players and we wont all agree and thats what makes it great for debate but sheesh guys calm down its all about opinions

Alot of people on this forum are having a go at mulgrew because his defending isn't his strong point. who would u rather we sign a player like kirk broadfoot or sasa papac that type of player wouldn't fit in to our side . all you mulgrew bashers are failing to see that he will fit perfectly into our style of play. we are an attacking team our full backs are expected to push up at every opportunity, join in with play and get crosses into the box thats his game . its risk versus reward. thats why we get caught at the back post cos our full backs push up and cant get back in time . hinkle isn't a good defender either how many goals did he sell last season. u might not agree but i think mulgrew will contribute more to our team next season than hinkle will. he is a big guy at 6ft 3 he will be good to have at set pieces and above all else he is a celtic man. hopefully we will get sol campbell in and he could make mulgrew one * of a left back all i see thats wrong with mulgrew is his positional sense from time to time . He needs to learn when to go forward and when not to and an experienced centre half like sol could make him a player. i cant believe that some of you are saying that lee naylor is a better player than him naylor has sold the jerseys for years he is brutal you should all stop taking drugs before going to games.

Sorry, how exactly am I a pc hardman? Becausei said mcdonald wasn't Celtic class aye na bother son

would it not be better to get someone who was able to assist in attack and also be able to defend?

Lee Wallace or Paul Dixon would tick both boxes and are both far better than Mulgrew but this is Celtic and it doesn't matter who's better it's who's cheapest

We have to live within our means and cut our cloth to suit our coat. There are nearly 3M unemployed and we have the worse recession since the war, so blowing £3M on Wallace would be utter madness. Charlie Mulgrew will do the business alright. We have other positions that are more worrying and need to filled.

As for losing that last league under Strachan it was JVOH's fault as well because he couldn't hit a barn door from ten feet, and was as mobile as a road cone at the end.

it doesnt matter who we sign for left back our style of play will always lead us to selling goals from that area of the park. u look at the right back for liverpool and england glen johnston he is a hopeless defender but going forward he is good and how much did he cost 18 million i think it was and he isnt the complete player we have to buy players from the market we are in and for free i think its good business . the bottom line is we either play as we do or we turn into rangers and play centre halves in full back positions thats why they didnt concede much last season cos their first objective is not to give away goals to be hard to beat and hit on the break. our supporters would go mad if we set up like rangers. i really dont think their is much between mulgrew, dixon and wallace. i think mulgrew will do well for us but id still like us to sign another left back its always healthy to have competition for places.

Sorry but I just don't agree with that. Left-back should be an absolute priority position for us because we've been weak in that position for years. Charlie Mulgrew will not solve the problem.

Lee Wallace should be one of our priority signings this summer imo. He's young, Scottish, pacey, good going forward, not bad defensively and can even cover at centre-back in an emergency. If Celtic ignore Wallace and start the season with Mulgrew at left-back then they can take the consequences because we will get exposed in that area. Again :87:

I think Mulgrew is one of the definite signings that will happen...and already he's causing a rift between the supporters. Is there a Celtic player or potential player that would have no detractors?

Meself Im pro-Mulgrew, I think for a free, and most likely low wages, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I'm going to go as far as say Mulgrew could be something special if given the chance here. But like McGeady, Brown, Fortune, Samaras, etc. He will cause arguments amongst the fans..I guess it's just a part of being a Bhoy.

Come on, stop ripping into him. He'll be playing with a better class of players next season(hopefully) and playing in a better team. A team that I hope battle for the ball no mater where they are playing. I for one am not going to judge him until I see him play for us. after all, Neil Lennon's neck is on the end of the block now and if he want Charlie Mulgrew in, I'll back him. Lennon made Lee Naylor look decent enough for some of yous to want him to stay. Whos to say that Mulgrew wont grab THIS chance with both hands and fight harder than anyone else in the team and give 110% every week and manage to keep his consentration that will make him a good player:50:

Mulgrew would probably have been good for us the first time round, but Strachan had his knife in for him.

Charlie is a low risk signing who could turn into the real McCoy for us at left back, and he is a right good Tim as well. I like the fact that Lenny
is being linked with targets who know what it means to play for Celtic.

Stop complain about mulgrew. Personally I think he will a good signing he is good at going forward and yes maybe not the best defender but that's exactly the same as hinkel who is good at going forward but not the best at defending and if you think mulgrew isn't good enough then hinkel can't be that good if he can't defend. probably not mate, one of the drawbacks of supporting such a big club i suppose! im with u tho he could be excellent if he improves defensively, always liked him as a player
