my apologies bud didn't mean to be as blunt as saying it was a pointless argument. Good point mate our midfielders haven't been exactly creative, but my point is that when samaras has been played in the "strikers" position..he hasnt stuck to his position he is either running down the left flank or the right flank, so if hes doing this then what is the problem with him playing on the left of a 3-man strikeforce? His attitude just isn't right for the team that we need right now..yeah he is a good player when he turns up for a game, but you have tio have the right mentality to go with your ability. If your manager asks you to play in a different position then you give your all!

 

Fair enough think we're just flat out disagreeing on his ability. Just saying though I don't think it was up top we suffered this year - it was losing crucial goals and having headless chickens in the midfield.

I just think even if you don't think Samaras is that good, his attitude, goal record and bit of flair should be enough to warrant a place in a group of 4 strikers, even at least 4th choice. I think he's a great option to have.

 

Sammy was playing great for us when he was paired with Maloney upfront as a striker. Sammy is a striker NOT a winger. He then got injured and it seemed to dent his confidence for a long while. Play him as a striker alongside someone with a bit of speed, and sharpness of mind, and Sammy will come good again.Sammy/ Maloney - Sammy/ Ras - Sammy/Stokes

You're missing my point chief. I am not disadreeing on his ability, he is a decent player and in actual fact i quite like the big * was willing him to do well for greece the other night. My gripe about him is his attitude and his inability to stay in position if/when he is asked to play as a striker

 

Sameras is inconsistent and cant follow instructions.

The guy has ability but will never be consistent over a full season. He can try too much at times and other times he cant be arsed.

One minute he cant control a simple pass and the next his touch is sublime. People say mcgeady is frustrating but at least when hes on form he can produce several games in a row.

If big sam has a 1 good game, we might just get 2m for him and that should be accepted and put towards a penalty box striker like hooper.

 

Every stricker we have of late? they all want to play wide,I think they will get a rash if they go into the box,maybe Ras will change this

The shocking mentality of some Celtic fans towards Samaras is most evident when he steps off the team bus after the Ross County...

It's pretty disgusting to watch if I'm honest and the level of personal abuse shouted at him is nothing short of disgraceful...

If big sami is going to leave he will do so behind a long list of others who have been imposters on Celtic for the last couple of years...

 

I can understand people criticising Sammi because of his inconsistent play however a lot of the abuse he gets is personal and often even the football based abuse is OTT, despite all that he conducts himself with dignity and seems to genuinely like the club, for that reason I wish him well wherever he ends up.

Some people should take a look at themselves in how they behave towards one of our own players.

The abuse Sammy takes is too much not just on the forums at the games aswell people jump on his back soon as he makes 1 bad choice , yet mc Geady makes them all day long and everybody sucks up his * due to him being oustanding 15million rated player,
Perfect example its the world cup Greek thread opens up slamming Sammy are our fans really that sad they can only watch a game to slate one of our players its a disgrace ,these fans would be better off going and watching the huns and joinning hun media ,
