I reckon the agenda is from an agent of Boyd trying to bluff Rangers into making a good offer to boyd

If this is true I would be more than happy, I doubt that it is true but if we did end up getting Boyd we would have a proven SPL striker that we are badly in need of.

Yes, I'm inclined to think the same, definitely the work of his agent, not neccesarily to get a good offer from Rangers, maybe to get more money from other suiters too, like Birmingham.

I know for sure that I don't want Boyd anywhere near Celtic though.

Boyd wouldn't be my choice of striker but if he came i would back him. I would like a goalscorer with lots of pace. we lack that badly.

Firstly I think it's a load of rubbish and just your typical tabloid story with little to no foundation.

Putting that aside though, would I want him at Parkhead if there was any truth to it - No. It has nothing to do with him being a Rangers player but simply the fact he never does it in games that matter, he's hardly ever picked for European or OF games so that tells it's own story. If we are paying a striker £30k a week I expect them to be able to score against all teams, not just the bottom 6 of the SPL. Added to that fact is I honestly don't think he would give 100% for the hoops, we've enough players that don't put in the shift all the time without getting another one in.

I wonder if on the (small) chance he came here, rattled in 30+, won us the league and stuck 5 past his 'beloved' team for us, would people still be crowing from the rooftops saying they wouldn't want him here?

This is all paper talk (it is The Sun after all) but the term 'goldfish bowl' rings true here since most football supporters in Glasgow have goldfish memories.

Loada Bollocks!!! Wouldnt have him near a burger van outside parkhead nevermind playing for us. He's just using our name to get a better deal from rangers or any interested team.

I think that has more to do with the negative way Rangers play though with their 4-5-1 in the bigger games, nothing to do with his goal scoring ability!

Just seen that Reid failed a medical... Boyd would have no chance of passing a medical at parkhead.

Even when he does play he doesn't score against the bigger teams which is why it would be a no for me. Yes he has a great scoring record against the smaller teams, but for £30k a week that's not enough for me.

Even at Kilmarnock how often did he score against us, if he was that good against the better teams then surely he would have gotten at least one?

I still don't think he'd give 100% for us, obviously if he signed and did give 100% then great but he doesn't even give 100% all the time for the team he supports so I doubt that would happen.

Go's to prove that The Sun will write any old * and run it on the front page!

Someone should start a log of all of the crap they run as "Exclusives" and within month they could publish a book on it!

This should show the fans that the papers will print anything. We have been linked with about 10 strikers and midfielders already and i've seen fans criticise the club based on these rumours!! Come on folks..lets just wait and see who we SERIOUSLY go for

I am surprised by the reaction of most people on here the guy is a goal machine in the SPL and that is our prority . Maybe he didnt score alot against us but it never stopped his team from beating us the last 2 seasons .

Same could be said about Robbie Keane though, 65k a week, played 2 games against Rangers and was very poor nevermind score!
