Oh come one...we cant say players have improved under Lennon yet. Judge over 1 or 2 seasons and most of those players aint good enough.

Keane is on loan as you know, thats what i was referring too.

The dressing room issue with Mcgeady....nobody knows what that was all about....but we do all know WGS could start a fight in an empty room!!

Build around McGeady...we need ot keep his quality.

None of the other Celtic players are as hyped up as Aiden McGeady is though.

I think McGeady is poor in Old Firm matches and in Europe. His European performances are another reason why the 'double teaming' argument doesn't wash with me. The good European sides don't bother with double teaming McGeady but he still shows the same weaknesses and frustrating tendencies that he does when he is 'double teamed'.

Is Aiden McGeady one of our better players - Probably.
Does Aiden McGeady deliver in the big matches - As a rule, No.

Aiden McGeady is essentially our version of Kris Boyd. He can give St. Mirren's full-backs a good roasting but when it comes to playing Rangers he's hardly ever seen.

There are a few youtube videos of him in europe being double teamed. Its our managers job to ensure they work against that tactic the opposition use. They obviously think stop mcgeady and you stop celtic.

Long gone? 4 or 5 seasons? Not really that long, dude!! After that, maybe Hartson? Maybe even Boruc in his first couple of seasons here.

I wouldn't say Boruc is a great. Hes been a good keeper yes. Hartson, again, long gone. Lets not long for the past and look at the hear and now.

With the greatest respect, if you wish to look at the here and now, then you would be better wiping clear all of Celtic's great and unrivalled history. Larsson, Johnstone, McGrory...they all made themselves greats while playing for the Club and then after leaving.

For a player to be "long gone" you would need to talk over ten years. Hartson has been gone for 3, and Larsson 5. Again, with all repsect, I think you realise you are losing the argument and can't think of any good reasons to not include Hartson and Larsson.

I really don't know what you're getting at...with the greatest respect. I don't think Celtic have had a "great" for a long time. 5 -10 years in football is a long time....as our 2003 uefa final to where we are now shows us.

I quite clearly stated Larrsson was a great. Not sure what you're trying to get at or what "argument" we are having.

5-10 years aint a long time in football!! It can take up to 5 years to build a decent team around you!

Anyway, back to the thread. McGeady's crap!

Again, it was a question in a round about way as i knew what the answer would be.... Why continue with this!

You say why get rid of one of our best players....ok that your opinion, but:

    Shootings abysmal
    Doesnt score enough goals
    Passings terrible at times

The list goes on, and im bored as * talking about this guy!

nonsense. MON's team was made and dismantled in that time. Only a Man Utd or similar can say that when they have quality youth to give a chance...we dont give them a chance or dont have the quality.

McGeady isn't crap, thats just silly now.

But it's got you talking about it again!

Why can't we have a Man Utd system in place though? We're just as big as them...maybe not financially but certainly in terms of fan base. As for the youth, we obviously do have the quality in place, otherwise we wouldn't be winning leagues etc. I've said it on here plenty of times, its the daft 21s rule that the spl enforce which is killing our game. It is not letting the youths go on loan to a first/second/third division team and gaining experience where you need to work hard and play hard.

winning leagues and cups in your own country is no real indication that the boys will make the step up to the first team. If you even look at Man Utd now there are fewer and fewer home grown talents coming through.

Teams have known to double or treble up on & kick lumps out of him for years now cos no one else in the side provides any threat. I'd keep him as long as possible, but admittedly he could do with a wee kick up the * now and then. By the way for those who say he never does anything in Europe he was the best on the park in both legs v Arsenal
