What a joke, McGeady is a top class winger and those giving him a hard time need to wise up, who would you want in place of him ? as for this nonsense he gets it easy because he plays for Ireland, what a complete load of balls that is. As for Keane, the guy worked his balls off last night, he may not have had an attempt on goal, but he can hardly be blamed for that, if he doesn't get the service he can't score, for me Keane was outstanding last night and more importantly since his arrival at the club, if he's affordable and wants to stay he should be kept.

McGeady was pretty poor in his choices last night. He was being doubled up on every time he got the ball and he should have used that to his and the team's advantage by trying to draw the defenders into fouling him to at least keep the initiative with us, but more often than not he ran himself into a box and lost possession.

He was only vaguely effective when he cut inside higher up the wing and came at the hun back four from the diagonal, drawing defenders out to him and leaving space behind them.

It's been mentioned now by a couple of people that he looks heavy and I agree with that. Looks about a stone overweight imho and has lost an edge to his running. Whitacker was there for the taking last night, he's a very average defender but for most of the game he outmuscled McGeady and boxed him in. I was hoping before the game for McGeady to try to turn the last man and get into the box more but he just seemed to lack that drive and impetous in his game. His final ball again was very iffy also.

He struggled tonight, poor game from him but at least when we did lose possesion we didnt moan like a 5 year old he got back and tried to win it back. McGeady was doubled up which makes it very hard for him because even when he does beat a man he has another one to contend with.

The supply to keane last night was shocking nearly every ball wad punted up to him.as for aiden against the Huns, they always squueze that areA of the pitch dropping either Davis or naismith back to help.so I put that down to lennons lack of tactical knowledge.ever since wattie came back we have really struggled to break them down

Im undecided on Aidan, but I agree with you here. Its the same situation with Boyd and the Huns. Everyone goes on about how he doesn't score against us but thats not where his value lies.

Aiden has looked like our only attacking outlet a number of times this season.

But if we are talking 6m+ then fine by me.

Exactly what I just posted it was more a case of experience wattie totally out foxing the inexperienced Lennon.although to be fair to Lennon he has done remarkably well and even wgs struggled in breaking wattie rangers team down

How many times we going to argue over McGeady!

Here is questions for the McGeady Supporters, and answer truthfully....:

    1. Has he ever played well against Rangers..... ? (if so, when :icon_mrgreen:)

    2. Has he ever played well in Europe.... ? (if so, when :icon_mrgreen:)

If someone mentions the token 2 or 3 games, they need to get a grip in my opinion.... This is not the mark of a great or even good Celtic player.... he has played well under Lennon....Yes, but what has he had to play for, the league..... ?

People cannot back this boy up any more, he isn't even a luxury player!

Bit of a mute question if you ask 'has he ever played well against Rangers or in Europe?' and then say 'apart from the token 2 or 3 games'

Kinda says to me your pre-empting the response because you know he's played well in at least 2 or 3 games.

aidens skill will only be appreciated when hes gone. He gets all the criticism as he is EXPECTED to tear sides apart and those who are poor week in week out and NEVER prodice any sort of flair escape much of the fans criticism. Poor show imo.

We should look to keep him and improve the quality around him.

I gave you plenty of examples in another thread of many good perfromances from Aiden in old firm games and in Europe and you picked daft holes in it.

I don't have the time or inclination to do it again.

Its a case of fans expecting Aiden to run the show week in week out. I don't know why.

What totally bugs me is guys like you get overly nippy when people on here pick holes in McGeadys game!

    Its utterly ridiculous.

We have a differing of opinions on the boy, for me, he has done it in a handfull of games, and you NEVER gave me decent examples anywhere enough to warrant a change of mind on Aiden Mcgeady.

The boy isnt overrated, as he isnt rated in circles like England etc.... Only overrated by Celtic fans like yourself, who are excited by a 1 trick pony who continually fals to deliver on the stage where he is most needed.

I will say it time and time again, great players do not split opinion.... will you at least admit that mate....?

So should we expect him to deliver every 4 weeks.... ?

And not expect him to deliver in the big games... ie Rangers and Europe?

Best player at our club, how many goals has he scored how many games has he turned it on in how many times has he failed to shine. Get him sold asap and spend the money on 2 new players

He has done many times. Sets up plenty in the spl.

Reason he is linked with big money move to Birmingham.

Not a fan of the lad. Thought he did well until he switched sides in the first half.

A lot of people keep mentioning the fact Aiden is 'double teamed' as a defence for him. Fine. Then why doesn't he just start passing the ball early to a team mate then? I'm sick of seeing him run himself into a corner then turn back and forth 18 times before being crowded out and giving the ball away. If there's two men round McGeady he should move the ball to a team mate early and try and move into space to get it back again.
