Aiden McGeady

I have yet to see the majority of the crowd have a go at McGeady for giving the ball away the same way they do with various other players.

 

I thought he took up some decent positions tonight, just his final ball was lacking again. I noticed he pulled out a few challenges as well tonight and could've gave a little more, in saying that - he's a flair player and they aren't always expected to give the physical side.

 

i would say sammy gets it the most then aiden,

 

I caught the last quarter of the game and thought that Aiden played well, he made alot of space for other players and played some intelligent passes aswell as a few shots at goal.

 

i disagree but this could go on for a while. As i said i respect your opinion, just don't necessarily agree with it. Let's hope that, if he stays, McGeady proves me wrong and you right next season

 

I am not really a big fan of McGeady, and have not seen the game on TV yet, but I actually didn't think Aiden had that bad a game. A few short passes, but overall I didn't think he was too bad.

 

was very bad for doing stupid runs into trouble tonight. Started the season so well but has been pretty poor thoughout the 2nd half of the season. I really get the sense that his time is up this summer and he will be off for a good bit less than you often here quoted.

First I thought it was your eyes that needed looking at, now it your ears I think you should be more worried about. Aiden mcgeady is kicked from pillar to post at celtic park these days now you are either just making that statement up or you just choose not to hear when mcgeady gets abuse.

Haha people make me laugh he's our best player for nearly a month now and he has one decent performance and he's terrible and needs to be sold, funny thing is he wasn't even that bad no better or no worse than most other players on the park yet he is singled out with these threads time after time.

 

i'm not being fickle on this subject - i have been critical of McGeady thorughout the past season or 2. His performances have been nowhere near up to scratch and he gets away with it from the fans. I choose not to hear any abuse because it rarely happens, if at all. How can a player who can't pass, cross, shoot, is slow and a diver be a good footballer? His dribbling skils are 3 or 4 years outdated as every player knows what he is about to do and his greediness lets him down big time. He is always looking to cut inside to hit his usual dragged - wide shot instead of getting to the byline and making the defender commit themselves into the tackle. He has only scored 1 goal in 5 years against Rangers and rarely performed in the European big stage. His performance tonight was shoddy and he, quite often, gave the ball away and handed the initiative back to Rangers

Was very poor tonight trying to do too much he should just be looking to skin a player once and the cross in instead he trys to * around to much and end's up doing sweet * all , cant honestly see why any body would be stupid enough to offer us big money for him ,

 

Slow?

Rasmussen is slow, McGeady isn't.

I'm pretty sure if every player what he was about to do then he wouldn't skip past anybody the way he does, fair point about his greediness though.

 

i didn't really mean he was slow as such - i meant to say he seems to have lost some of the pace he had 2 years ago. Maybe it's just me but he is looking a lot heavier than he used to and maybe it is affecting his pace

 

If it weren't for Aiden, we would have LOST the old firm game in January.

He wouldn't have set up McDonald, huns would have taken all.

People seem to only remember Aiden for the one bad game he has out of 10. The rest? When he sets up goals and is constantly battling, and winning possession? Totally forgotten.

Keane, Boruc, McGeady, and Hinkel are our best players and the players we MUST hold onto if we have any chance of winning the title next year. A new winger of McGeady's calibre will cost us 8 million quid or MORE. Be careful what you wish for Do you people want another foreign, first division rate player to sign and take McGeadys place? Because that is what is going to happen if that 8 million from his sale is funneled into a striker to replace Keano.

He had a bad game out of many. We still won. I forgive him. Keep McGeady. Let Desmond pay for another Keano.

doubled up on the entire game. didn't play great but wasn't terrible. Him and Keane were the focus of Rangers entire defensive setup

 

i agree i think walter told them to mark aiden out the game

 

exactly when you have 3/4 rangers player on you the moment you get the ball, no matter how good you are, your going to struggle, the same with keane, he had a below par performance for the same reason and nobody is mentioning that.

since lennon took over mcgeady has been brilliant, 1 slightly off game for the player thats decided to stick by us all this years and everyone tells him to * off, pretty poor show if you ask me
