I agree with you :50: I walked into work yesterday morning and the hun that sits next to me said to me "what happened to the worlds greatest supporters last night" and he's right! We brag on about being the best fans and the world and so on but are we *! The worst thing is that Over and Over still plays at Celtic Park..... It's embarassin!

    Over and Over

Work commitments - the reason I couldn't go.

Its a lot harder for people to get to a tuesday/wednesday game, than to plan a weekend for the football.

I didn't say the board would not have gotten a message, what I'm saying is it's rather convenient that fans are only disillusioned for certain games, OF games being excluded.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

If you are disillusioned with the club then that should mean not attending any game, otherwise it just looks as though you only want to go to the big games, even if that's not your intention that is certainly how it comes across.

I do understand where you are coming from...

But the reality is, that some people are travelling to games, maybe 30 to 100 miles to and from, getting to parkhead, and staying in the pub while the game is on, thats been very very common over the past few years (probably always has) but now they are simply staying away!

At the end of the day, I cant say this enough, im a Celtic man through and through, always have been, always will be, Ive worked hard throughout the weeks to be able to afford a season book!

But now I feel all of my hard earned money, all of the time and cash I have plowed into teh club, is not being repayed, again, high prices terrible quality on the pitch, and Im finding it harder and harder to justify renewing my book!

And il tell you another thing, i made a post on here asking about the season book renewal, i knew there would be the usualy replies, but make no bones about, there are a large percentage of the crowd who are seriously thinking about non renewal of their books, all culminating to the one fact, that what we are seeing is simply not good enough any more.

Port Glasgow is a major major Celtic stronghold, I dont need to come onto forums to see what the general consensus and feeling is, there are a lot of family, friends, and club members who feel the same as myself, and that will show if the board do not react soon!

Faithful through and through yes...!!!! But not a Dummy....!!!!

He knows we are all * off. I'm sure he will be doing something to rectify this come the summer even if we had a full house for the rest of the season.

He can't afford to be losing out on CL money for another year and us turning up or staying at home is not going to make any difference to what he knows needs done.

Mate I see what your saying, I just don't agree with it, it's all or nothing for me I'm afraid.

I was up at 4am on Saturday morning to go to the Ross County game, a regular occurrence for me, I go to about 20 games a season (mainly home games with a few away games) as that's all I can afford to go to but I'm keeping my season ticket as I just couldn't give it up, when I moved over to Ireland at first I spent 4 years not being able to afford to go to that many games and that was during some of the best times in recent years (I moved to Ireland 4 days before the 6-2 game, just my luck :56:) so there is no way I'm giving it up now that I can afford it. If others chose not to renew then fine I have no problem with that but picking and choosing only the big games I do have a problem as it comes across as glory hunting pure and simple.

thats utter mince. Football is about entertainment and enjoying it nearly as much as supporting your team. If you aren't enjoying it then you are going to be less likely to make sacrifices to attend the game. If you have always bought a certain product from a local business and one day find they have replaced it with with a more expensive and rubbish alternative then you aren't going to go back just to support your local business. This is similar for many people in terms of celtic - they feel ripped off at having to spend more than they did 5 years ago with far less quality. Of course people will be back for the old firm game - they are willing to spend the money to attend that game as they enjoy it.

Well I cant be regarded as a glory hunter, I was only making an example of that 1 game!

All or nothing for you is your decision...

there are a lot more things in life that I enjoy at this moment, and are closer to me than Glasgow Celtic... I still and will always love the club, and have not ruled out completely buying my book for next season... i just want action, as i dont know about any of you, but I couldnt watch that * again next season that was served up there....

Again, its been getting progressively worse, and I like many many others have been contemplating giving up the book for a few seasons, a i cant face being treated like a mug, paying £600+ for my book, then everything that goes along with it, to watch the tripe thats being served up.

If people are happy with that, and happy to continue in that vein then more power to them, but I have a lot of other responsibility to cater to that sitting in work throughout the week thinking the majority of my weekend is going to be taken up watching rapidly diminishing in quality Celtic squad.

I am now married have 2 kids mortgaged up and have no job into the bargain since Christmas. I do still travel with my wife to away euro nights each year and have made a trip to see Celtic v Man U in Seattle USA when I was over there staying.

I have not been to any games this year as you can imagine, but have still watched and kicked every ball in the pubs and streams a bit like Lenny is doing at the moment.

So hopefully things will pick up for our family and we get back to the norm. Then I'll take you up on that offer Danni

I can totally understand people's frustrations right now and it's a person's right to boycott games and threaten to not renew season books etc...but honestly do you really think the board give two * about you or I? For every season book punter they lose they will have 3 waiting on the standby list! Remember we are the best supporters in the world there through thick and thin, so IF you are able to attend matches please do so and give your backing to CELTIC as a club and what we stand for! This is a dark time in our history and we have to come together again as fans as we DO make a difference as the 12th man!

I hear exactly what you are saying. Just don't follow your opinion.

If I changed from 1 company to the other because they aren't as good anymore it would be like saying that I’m going to support someone else now because the ones I support now are not as good.

I thought being a Celtic supporter was meant to be like being part of a family and I couldn't see me walking away from a member of my family just because they started to drop it status.

Maybe I am wrong, maybe we aren’t a family after all.

i agree with you as well mate - its a difficult subject. I just think many on here have simply decided that fans have stayed away cos the couldn't care about their club but it is far more complicated than that:50:

hope things turn around for you anyway and that you'll be able to return to parkhead soon:icon_mrgreen:

Dont believe that for a minute mate, I guarantee that if half the crowd did not renew their book, they would not get replacements, they were trying to sell books half way through were they not... ???

    Ohh come on mate... !!!

The Celtic Family thing is now a sham... Business pure and simple!

You cannot in your heart honestly say that celtic are as important to you as any members of your family... il tell you mate, they dont come close...

you can guarantee it because season ticket sales fell from 54,000 to 45,000 last summer and no one came in to fill those seats. The fact that, outside the old firm game in january, there has been no domestic sell-out this season also shows that there is no one waiting on standby for tickets. There is no waiting list either - season tickets have been on sale throughout the whole season.

Agree with that. I posted earlier, mite be in this thread, that for the last 2-3 seasons CFC have advertised 1/2 season books and you can buy them all year round now. So if they cant sell the usual 45-50 thousand plus the maybe 20-30 that won't renew next year who will they be selling to?
I am still undecided, like urself and many more, about renewal as it is dificult to part with what little money I have to watch dross. I don't want to not go anymore coz i've been in my seat since the stand 1st opened in 1998. Had the best days/nights of my life up there so it would be a wrench to lose it. Unless there was a major review of prices I dont see them selling anymore than 30-35 thousand tickets.

As long as the punters are back on saturday it's all good.

I respect the fact that tuesday was a protest and to a certain extent agree with it but if it carrys on into saturday then I would call that lazyness and a lack of passion.

We have had this problem all season aswell only getting 45-50k at some home games. Pure and simple lack of passion. We are not by a mile the best fans in the world because when the going get tough we don't turn up.

to be fair getting 45-50,000 fans is still an excellent attendance and beats most english teams but it is worrying because when you start to lose fans, even 10,000, they are very hard to get back
