Some people say the years Robbie are going on to are the best years of footballers careers.

Robbie has already expressed he wants to return to Tottenham.

He's rich enough already, he's experienced the top level of football - I believe any Celtic fan would give there best years to the club that they love.

That brings me to the question, does Robbie really support Celtic, or was he just here to tick a personal box? Whether that be for himself, or in my opinion - for his dad who passed away.

Sadly at the end of the season, it'll be box ticked & goodbye from Robbie Keane in my opinion.

A big part was DD wanting to tick that particular box also imo.

Keanes been used from day one, in a marketing ploy by Celtic - selling shirts, tickets, merchandise the lot. 2nd to this was the hope that he could help turn the season around, obviously he didn't manage that - but he did sell a lot of * & *.

Mission accomplished for both Keane & DD.

Should sign him up, no matter what!

He'll make us as much back in mechandising and he'll score goals.

If I was Keane I would long ago have realised that I could go to an English club and score some goals and maybe in 20 years time some one might say, "Remember Keane, he was half decent!", or go to Celtic and become a legend who would be talked about for a hundred years. Like Larsson will be, like so many were before him!

id get him on loan for the wholeof next season , would be much easier & better for us as we could spend the 10mill or so that it would cost to buy him on other players

No. Have some common sense. Keane is a luxury we cannot afford unless Desmond has a Scrooge on Xmas day moment. Blowing our budget on Keane will mean the team next season will be the same as now. We have Keane now and yet we got to a lowpoint of looking at a 16 point deficit. Having one 8/9 million quid player in a team whose average price is about 2 million is a waste. What the team needs to raise the standard is 3 experienced British football type players around the 4-5 million mark down the spine.

and he should be told to fck off if he does that. I am not impressed by so called Celtic fans who only come at 33 etc. Basically guys who are not willing to pay much of a price to play for Celtic. Namesake Roy springs to mind. Also other celeb fans like Ian Wright who was totally finished when he came.

First of all he won't stay (something about the spurs tea ladys)

If we said he would then no I wouldn't break the bank I would leave it upto the board if they think we have the funds to do this then i'm all for it but if it would mean bringing any uncertainty over the club then no.

Robbie has carried us in a few games since he's been here, if he was here for the whole season then he is one of those players who can single handidly win us the league, it's all about balancing his worth with his expense.

As I said at first though I don't think he would want to stay here.

Tell the board to spend spend spend and then slate them for getting us into financial difficulties through short-sighted fixes... errmm sounds like a good plan.

Fergus got us out the * by NOT giving in to wage and transfer demands and by keeping the banks HAPPY. Do we really want to go back to the Mars Bar years?

I hope Kean has enjoyed us as much as we have enjoyed him. Now, lets clear out the dead wood, the expensive short-term loans, and start building a TEAM.

Yes they should break the bank. After this short period of time you no what your buying, He also would be captain and a player that the youths could learn from. We could spend 2mil on a stiker for the next 3/4 seasons which would accumulate to 6/8 mil with no return.

As great as its been having him here he's almost 30 and it wouldn't be wise to spend 10m+ on a player who is at the end of the peak of his career with hardly an sell on value. With 10m we could buy a really excellent striker in his early to mid twenties and even if he flopped we could sell him on and make most of our money back.
