Nobody has just attacked Sammy alone for the * ups, look at the threads about McGeady, Loovens, the match officials, the SFA the rest of our missing defence, our manager problem, threads about strikers not taking there chances (pre and post January). You win as a team and lose as a team but people seem to want to defend the big guy more than the rest of the no hopers. At the end of the day we have not been good enough for a long time now and the team needs to stand up and be counted for.

Sammy is a scapegoat as they saved the biggest boos and jeers for him coming off the coach after the pathetic performance

Sammy is not alone is drawing deserved criticism, not just for yesterday's performance, but for the player that he is. There is undoubted footballing ability within that man, but all too rarely do we get to see it. It is immensely frustrating.

I posted earlier in this thread that maybe the ideal role for him should be when we are looking to play a solo striker, or as an impact player off the bench. I firmly believe this to be the case, however at a club like Celtic you have to ask is this the type of player that we need? In all seriousness, how often should Celtic be going into games with just the one up top? Not very often. The odd league game or away in Europe, but not a great deal, and with Fortune there we have virtually 2 players that can provide the same service. Is not one enough, or indeed is it possible that both could be considered surplus to requirements?

I think when our team under-performs, Samaras usually gains most of the criticism.

    When it's deserved, fair enough.

There has been too many times, when the likes of Aiden, Boruc - namely fan favourites performing at a much lower level than Samaras. Yet, Samaras still seems to receive most of the criticism from fans.

In my opinion, some of the criticism thrown at Samaras has been correct but the fans are inconsistent with their criticism and only seem to target individuals. Which, in my opinion - is totally out of order.

Because he never uses the assets he has, pace, height, strength and he's always hiding somewhere!! He was up front for ages and kept dropping deep or going wide, then he gets played ther and does nowt.

Add to that the fact that he is so over dramatic at the slighest incident. A missed chance will see 20 seconds of rolling around cupping his mouth then combing his hair back. Should shave his head in training then give him daily dumps til they light a fire in his belly that will make him do good stuff in the right areas of the park

It's so hard to please the masses. Especially at Celtic.

I'm not sure why he gets more than everyone else. Don't get me wrong, I don't rate him BUT he never hides in a game!!! He didnt hid against county unlike his team mates such as McGeady,Fortune and Brown!!!!

Samaras is a scapegoat coz he's * *. The sooner he * off out of Parkhead the better for me. Fed up watching the big * now. Celtic are full of gutless players just now and Samaras is definitely one of them.:47:

Samaras is a Shocking player, he is absolute pish. He doesn't have a brain, never knows when to pass, has no heart and should be one of the first players out of parkhead. That said the whole celtic team can't pass and lack heart

At the start of last season, when he was hitting 2 a game, he was praised
How is he ever going to get his confidence up enough to return to that form when our own fans boo him ?
McGeady is the player, if any, who should be get the most abuse. Hope he goes and gets found out down south. Strachan knew he was pish and now everyone is finding that out

The abuse he got at parkhead after the ross county game is absolutly terrible he clearly got more abuse than any1.. even though he apologised to every fan and took all the critisism and gave a young guy his top... as for mcgeady trying to fight with people?? what was that all about? nguemo and fortune more or less ran into celtic park. samaras got the worse reception by a mile and he was deffo not the worst player on the pitch!! he and neil lennon tried to speak to the fans unlike others!
