who would you rather aiden mcgeady or alan thompson

Feel the need to mention this, we had Thompson in his prime. Hopefully Aiden will only get better, he certainly has higher potential that Alan did at the same point in his career so heres hoping we can file the rough diamond.

Thompson all the way made an appearance at most of the big games unlike the unimpressive mr.flatley!

 

thommo for sure aiden still flatters to deceive,might be great one day above average at the mo

 

To be fair they are different types of player, Thommo was more of a wing back and could play LB or CM as well.

Aiden is more an out and out winger.

Think for sheer value to the team it would need to be Thommo though, still think Aiden has much more to come though and hasn't peaked.

 

thomson was in his prime at celtic, aiden is yet to reach his but on what i ahve saw it is thommo no contest, we despretly need someone with set play abilityand the agressive mentality

Having said that, I'd take McGeady or Naka over Agathe.

i wish we had a thommo style player now his crossing was perfect nearly all the time

 

Thompson just for the fact we really lack someone to stick it in from 30 yards or stick a plant a corner on someone's head

 

mc geady flatters to decieve cant cross as often as Thomson

 

alan thompson for me, better passer and crosser of the ball and a better finisher than mcgeady, thompson had more influence in the games against the huns too.

 

I would say Thommo because he was a leader, a digger and a big game player! I like McGeady alot but if he was there for the MON years i dont think he would have got a game, especially in the 3-5-2 formation.

 

McGeady can beat any defender you put in front of him. Quick feet and great skill. But then what does he do with it. Very poor final product and for that reason i would choose Thompson every day of the week.

I reckon if McGeady had thommos crossing ability he would be unstoppable though.

 

Thompson's commitment and hatred of the Huns was quality, like he was a Tic fan all his life.

Didn't like the way Strachan treated him.

Imagine if Agathe had Thommos crossing ability aswell just think how much Larsson, BBJ and Sutton would have scored with that crossing ability from each wing

 

Can only be one choice for me Thommo, was good to watch and got the job done. As the name says McGreedy. Always wait for him to lose it, trying to hang on and finishing touch awful. Think this guy overrates himself a bit much and thinks himself indespensible..

 

Thommo for me ,good at attacking and good at defending but he also played with a far better class of players around him ,where's Aiden seems to work harder in trying to make openings etc .

 

i would deffo say thompson altho i like aiden to !
