Hartley is still a quality defensive mid and he's showing it At BC, put it this way I would have had him over n'guemo any day. N'guemo if he was over 30 people would be saying he's past it because he dose sweet FA that hartley can't do.

People see his age and think he's past it:97:

I would not take any of them players back. I think with the right manager we can replace all of them. They all did a job when they were here and I thank them for the success they brought but their time has gone.

Its time for new players new manager and new success

    Hail Hail

A manager that knows he's got a far higher calibre of striker coming in on loan to replace him. :87:

And one who knows that this player will be leaving at the end of the season witch will then leave us in the * for the next season.

I mean that decision just gets worse evertime you think about it.

No it doesn't. He knew he had Keane till the end of the season so he didn't need McDonald this season. He would probably have brought in a new striker in the summer to fill the gap left by Keane. Seems quite straightforward to me.

The little voice in my head was actually Paul Caddis. Went to school with him.

35k? Not a chance, he doubled his wage to 15k. Nonsense.

    Caldwell, believed his own hype.
McManus, Feel for him, he loves the club, but not good enough, never looked like he'd match up to the potential Kennedy had either.
    Hartley, erm, too old.
Robson, would have kept him, but he's nothing special and no big loss.

I'd take skippy back, but would I be happy to pay £3.5m for him? doubt it.

Wouldnt have any them back. The only good thing Mowbray did was clear out the deadwood, I believe he has a decent eye for a player but just cant set a team up to win. I honestly believe that some of the player he has brought in will become top players for our club especially Hooiveld, Ki and Rogne but fortune does look garbage.

He left at the right time man.

Only reason we are looking at this topic of thread is because we feel that things may have been different had we kept a few of them lads. But i think at the time, i was disappointed with Robson and Mcdonald leaving as they seemed to know how to operate in the SPL- something we miss now. We have to try and move on.

    Absoloutley agree :50:

I think we expected these players to be great straight away, naturally next season is massive for all of their careers and development.

Would take McDonald back, once Keane leaves we need a half decent striker to play next to Rasmussen as I'm not a fan of Fortuné.
Probably take Caldwell and he could play next to Hooiveld, I think he'd be fine.
If we took Robbo back I'd put him on the bench.

Would have held on to Hartley and Robson, even if they're not first picks anymore they're good to have in the squad when you need someone you know will do a job.

McDonald was living off his first season, he never looked like recapturing that form or strike rate, if anything he was steadily getting worse, his first touch had gotten ridiculous, and he seemed to be getting fatter and more greetin faced every week.

Really should not have let Skippy go. His record speaks for itself - in 2 completed seasons he finished top scorer & even this season, even though he didn't play again for Celtic after the O** F*** game at the start of January, so virtually 3 months ago, he is still our top scorer this season.

It was also a mistake to allow BOTH Heid & Mick to go, especially without having 1st team ready replacements in place. Allow one, yes, but keep the other til the summer,

Anyhow, its neither here nor there. Apart from Mick it is out of our control. Who knows where we will find a proven consistant striker for what Skippy was sold for, let alone what we paid for him.

I miss Skippy me like. I know people had gripes at times, but he did put the ball in the net and made himself a decent player. Proved himself.
