Met Michael Mols in some store one time, when i was about 7. I was so excited to see a player outside in the real world, I didn't care who he was. Probably thought I was a hun, that was how amazed i was to see him.
seemed like a nice guy, when i got his autograph:54:

Met Sheridan last month in a pub up the Gallowgate, he was belting out the tunes, Got a few pics of him with me and the mates holding a basque flag lol was thinking about putting them up but decided not incase there leaked to papers

Also met a few over the years, Met Lennon, Hartson, Larsson, Balde and many others over the years

I remember about a year ago now I met Ferguson & Hartley in McDonalds in Balloch when they were staying at Cameron House, they were infront of me in the que got Hartleys autograph and Fergusons on a napkin which my mate then sneezed on lol, had a bit of banter with them and both were sound as *

I know the thread is about Celtic players but i met Mols and Numan in the Candy Bar a good few years back, both of them had a right good scoopful up at the bar, me n missus were in for about 2hrs and left with them still at the bar. It was Rangers last game of the season the next day v Kilmarnock, was * stunned to turn on SSN the next day to see Mols had been sent-off on 45mins. So much for professionalism, turned out to be his last game for Rangers but nothing was ever printed about his night out before.

Wee story here if anyone's interested...

My gran had forgot my birthday so to make it upto me, she took me and my best mate to Celtic Park for the tour (if you haven't been on it, get to it!) and after the tour, all the players were coming back from training. We met and got pictures with Lubo, Viduka, Maloney, Petrov and the best one of all...Morten Weighorst! He was the last person I asked for a picture with and he said "yes", but there was plenty of other people around and he said "just gimme a minute"...so we stood away from the crowd for a wee bit and the players all went inside and the crowd dispersed, I was gutted!...then the door swings open and the big man comes out looking for me! "You still want that picture then?" Fantastic, couldn't speak highly enough of him.

Another funny part of the day was that it turns out, my gran is actually good friends with Danny McGrain, but because she's such a football dunce, she didn't actually know who Danny McGrain is...haha Can still hear my wee granny's voice "oooh, there's Danny! DAAAAAAAANNY!" and over he comes. Spent the journey back home explaining to my gran that McGrain is a Celtic legend, all she could say was "aye...he told me he was a footballer when we first met but ye know me, can't be bothered with any football chat nonsense. haha

I met Ron Atkinson at Glasgow airport, don't really like him though so didn't feel that starstruck.

He's an arrogant * who thinks he's above everyone else.

He also charges his cousin for tickets. One night he phoned his cousin (my mate) and said "right I'm coming over for that 50 quid, so u better have it" drove half way across Glasgow to come get it late on a Tuesday night. Probably cost him more on petrol. My mate has no time for him whatsoever and that's his own family.

Iv met almost all the players through my job as I'm always in and about the ground, so not really that big a deal as it use to be as I'm used to seeing them now but met Henrik a couple of years ago and was totally starstruck. Was working in Dublin and he was playing for helsingborgs v drogheda in uefa cup, was staying in the same hotel. The bus was outside to take them to the game so me n my mate sat in the lobby to see him. Was shaking and could hardly even speak to ask for autograph and a photo. What a legend!!

Was walking through the argyle arcade once, and there strutting through with his mrs and a pram was glen loovens. Hadn't really realised who it was though until just after it when i was looking back. Also was in a pub when i was 16 getting steaming with my uncles and they tell me the guy we were sitting with is a former celtic player, Johannes Edvaldson was a proper legend. We piled him into the taxi cos we didnt want him walking home even though he only lived around the corner. Was a great guy.

So many different stories keep coming back to me.

Worked in saisburys when I was 17/18 and was working the Saturday night when we lost 4-2 at Aberdeen must of been bout 2002. big rab tried to control a pass back took a awful touch n mackie took it off him n scored. Anyway Paul McStay was in with his wife and got talking to him bout the game must of stood chatting for 10 mins. About a month later he comes in again and without any hesitation says "hi Ryan". Fact he remembered my name just shows what a fantastic guy he is, he was the perfect example of a Celtic captain; a world class talent and even better person.

I had organised a charity event and Tam (the bigot) Cowan promised to do the sports auction on the night for me, but low and behold he pulled out with less than 24hrs before the event. I eventually got Gordon Smiths number and called him if he would be available to stand in at the last minute- which he did. He travelled over 80 miles from his home with his wife & daughter to the charity night and done the auction for me, he was absolute class. He then left around midnight and travelled down South (6hr journey) to attend a family members wedding. At the time he was Paul Lamberts agent and he got my son 2 tickets for his 13th birthday to the infamous beach ball old firm game at Ibrox. After the game when he finished his stint on the BBC he called my son and asked him if he enjoyed the game and wished him a happy birthday. Irrespective of whats written about him regarding his new job the guy is real class...:50:
