Too many Strachen players have got too much to say. Must be boring playing for a * team like Middlesborough. WGS was brilliant but he played * football and got great results. McGeady would not be a great miss tbh.

I'm glad Tony Mowbray has come out and basically said 'I don't care what they think because it doesn't matter what they think'. He's * bang on too.

Are we to believe that Barry Robson at 32yo is so stupid or so naive that he doesn't know that his comments will be reported in Scotland and twisted in such a way as to make Tony Mowbray look bad or to stir up rumours that McGeady might leave in the summer? He knows fine well how the press up here works having seen it from the inside. It's not just the content of his comments that irritates me it's actually more the timing of them. Celtic's season is hanging by a thread, some would say it's already lying in ruins, and all Barry Robson is doing is adding to the pressure on our manager. It's not * helpful and if Robson cared about Celtic at all he would either say something positive about the club or he would just bat away any Celtic related questions. Instead of that he's chose to speculate on our 'star' player's future and to insinuate that we'd be better off with that 'master of the dull football' we used to have as manager.

I liked Robson a lot as a Celtic player but I hope he just shuts his trap now about Mowbray and Celtic before he spoils the positive memories I have of him.

If this happens I will give Strachan a bit of respect- but as they say-
    Long gone and long forgot!!!:bbpd:

"I'm pretty sure that some journalist, probably from Scotland, went there and asked him a leading question and Barry answered it, probably very honestly"

another thinly veiled swipe at the Laptop Loyal methinks from Mogga? still, Robbo should know better than to talk with the Hun hacks at the Record

Well if McGeady did want to go, he had better start performing. The way he's playing, it would be bottom half clubs in the EPL who'd be interested or someone coming up like Newcastle. Is Pederson out of contract in the summer? If so, I know who most prem managers would go for first on this season's form.

If people are asking questions then he has a right to reply.

first of all Robson speaks the truth, and second,i was one of those guys that wanted strachan out.
but after this seasons calamity i have said i would take WGS back in a flash
and he's right Aiden might be on his way out

I'd liketo see Aiden McGeady and Shaun Maloney playing but I don't know how far maloney is from fitness, we've been missing shaun maloney. We're not too far from winning the league I think.

gunt , I don't know if your at it all the time or just some of the time.. Someone will come on and explain a theory as to reasons why the team was broken up , you will then say fair point and then the next time the debate rears it's head again , you will revert to type and go to town on Mowbray untill someone else gives the reasons again and then you'll agree with them , and so on and so on... :31:
For one , Every single player had shown themself to be average at best in the season before this one , so were already in the "Show your worth to this club" category , and under a new manager when you'd think they'd maybe play above themselves to impress , they show nothing that merits a stay of execution.. Flood and Killen pretty much had to go to make room for others Im sure everyone will agree.. Caldwell wasn't getting the new improved contract he was looking for from the club , something that was decided before TM took the job I reckon.. Robson at 31 wasn't getting a new contract so it was either a case of taking the money when it was offered or letting him walk for nothing when his contract expired.. Skippy wasn't even maintaining the standards he'd shown throughout the early Strachan era so there was no gripe from many about selling for £3.5m.. The only other first teamer who was punted was Fox , who didn't show enough to make him indespensible , so again , no gripe there either.. Mcmanus will be back and there's no doubt he needed to get the heat off himself by taking the loan option..
The other 3 who were part of the broken up team , Hartley , JVOH and Nakamura divided opinion and I don't think people were surprised that Naka chose to move on , and Hartley and JVOH were surplus to requirements..

How does this vanity thing you speak off , come about ?

I think you need to let this whole Strachan nostalgia stuff go.. :86:

    Rubbish :87:

    Mowbray couldn't fucken lace Strachan's boots :31:
Strachan > 3 Championships on the trot. Silverware, 2 Last CL 16

What has Mowbray got us ? Sweet * All :47:

Robbo has a right to say it is as it is, just as we all have. And the league is not hanging by a thread. It was fucken over months ago under Mowbray :38:

Robbo is a fucken Celtic legend :50:

    Ok....

Can someone tell me where the critisism of robson is coming from? .

Where are they bitter? the article is tiny it was based on 1 or two question asked probably during an interview about middlesbourgh.

The basis of this thread is a bunch off spoiled brats who hate all things strachan and love all things mowbary and they don't waste an oppertunity to have a pop at the strachan regime. Because strachan bought these players they are seen as bitter (even though they said nothing bad about the club). When mowbray comes out talking about the media everyweek instead of our own team he is seen as a hero:97:

These are professional players who know about football and love the club, they have a had a swipe at the manager who they think is * us up BIG DEAL.

imo you should all try stop moaning about ex players and start concentrating on what has happned at your own club, mabye that way you could see the real problem with celtic at the moment, I'll give you a hint he's in my avatar:86:

Bottom line is you can only judge by results (everything else is subjective opinion) and we have gone overnight from a team who the worst you can expect from is losing or winning the title on the last day (which we did 4 times) over a decade long period to a disaster area trailing by 13 points. That happened over night with the change of manager. Yeah we lost on the last day last year but we won on the last day the year before and lost twice on the last day under MON. That was pretty normal stuff last year in the big scheme of things but this year is not normal. Its spectaculary bad and the worst since the 90s. I do not believe this needed to happen.

You are at it again.. I told you before that the transition from being second best in Scotland to where we are right now (Still 2nd best) wasn't an overnight thing... It took the best part of the last 18 months of Strachans time in charge to make it happen... As a club led by Strachan , we stood and watched as the huns got stronger yet we didn't do anything to keep them at distance.. We dropped as many points in the last 5 months of last season (remember the 8 point lead we had that ended in a 4 point deficit) with Strachan , Robson , Skippy , Caldwell , Mcmanus , JVOH , Hartley etc all playing leading roles ? Do you remebr it or have you , like Frank and Dr Jo all on this thread have done , forgotten all about that... We can harp on about 3 in a row and pretend the final season didn't happen , but Strachan's final season saw maybe our worst CL campaign ever , Robson missing a penalty in our opening fixture at home , which then left us an uphill battle to even finish 3rd which we couldn't manage , coupled with one of the worst capitulations since the SPL began and you still try and fool people into thinking you think the rot only started the moment that TM became manager.. Wise up ya nutjob..
