I hate this spud as much as everyone but why have Celtic not called him back hes better than odea and is on a par with loovens and has experience of title run ins! It would be an easy fix for our injury crisis.

you can only recall a player from a loan if you have loaned him out to a team in your country, since he's down south we cant

is Mc Manus loaned then? i thought he was gone for good! to be honest, i don't think he's amazing but he always played for Celtic! He has the type of Celtic mentality in a player we are missing right now, wanting to play for celtic because it's celtic!

    Hail Hail

Why is it that players who are out on loan at other clubs are looked at as the answer to our problems? :97:

A couple of months ago it was Darren O'Dea and now it's McManus. Neither O'Dea or McManus have looked like the answer to anything this season.

It will never get that bad. Thompson is vastly under-experienced and very rough round the edges but he can at least pass a football further than 5 yards which makes him instantly better than Mick.

Hear, Hear. And might as well give Rogne a shot in a couple games as well.

I understand where you're coming from, the odea saga before January was awful but our 3 'experienced' (mowbrays words) centre backs are injured and we are shocking at the back. I don't think McManus is the long term answer but for just now he might help shore up our defence. I was only happy seeing he leave because I though Ramis or StLedger were arriving. things have changed somewhat!

You know Celtic are bad when people start wanting second rate defenders recalled.

I've seen more in Thompson in, what, 7/8 games to see that he is better than McManus no matter what age he is.

I'd rather just throw Rogne in for 2 or 3 games than bring McManus back. If we took McManus back less than a month after letting him go it would just look like total desperation. At least Rogne is a guy with potential whereas McManus is just not good enough and isn't going to improve.

I don't think we could recall McManus even if we wanted to anyway. It's probably written into his loan deal that he has to stay at 'Boro till the end of the season.
