I really don't think the Board will accept losing the league by a large margin.

If they can't see signs of real improvement really soon - I think he'll be for the off.

However if he can show an improvement in performances & RESULTS, it might just show the Board that he has the capacity to build this good footballing team that he's been speaking of.

A whole season whould be long enough to get a clear picture of whether he can deliver this or not.

I think he will survive to lead us into a new campaign but ONLY if he reduces the points deficit to say about 4 or 5. If its still 10 or * forbid more come the end of the season then I think he would be sacked. Lawell will know that season tickets, jersey sales etc will drop dramatically and he would have to act. I wana be positive but pittodrie was too much for me , to be 2 goals up so late on and still only get 1 point was niave in the extreme. He is nt learning from his (many) mistakes :31:

same mate, been positive all season making excuses for the many slip up's, thinking after every win this is it were back and my blind faith will pay off. Saturday was one slip too many, how many times are we going to accept losing goals in extra time, and losing goals 2-3 mins after we score, these problems have been happenig all season

the league is gone, gone, gone. was after mcculloch scored the equaliser in the new year OF game. said back then that between that game and the next OF game we'd drop more points than them - sadly, i was very correct.

scottish cup is his only salvation now. if he can haul rangers back a bit in the league and win the scottish cup i'd give him another shot at it next year but if he don't he's out. board will dump him if he wins nothing and we trail them by 10pts or more - as they should as its a totally unacceptable season, rebuild or not. no manager of a big club could expect to keep his job after a seaon like that

when i look at what walter smith took on after le guen - a divided, demotivated rabble and where he took them in just a few months we have to seriously and sensibly review our manager's performance in the job - i struggle to see how this season could have really have gone much worse - 2 wins from 10 in europe, out at home in cis cup and league basically over by xmas. as for those celtic fans who want to wait and see - fine, but keep in view past performance is usually a reliable measure of future performance....
