IMO he is the ony candidate for the role, I don't think it'd be ethical or fair to appoint a loan signing as captain as was suggested by the media.

This could make Scotty a better player and more central to our success in the future!

Not to sure about having an attacking player as captain
always got to be a defender in my books

Its been musical chairs with the armband, whilst the team runs around not knowing who they are or where they are going.

This recent inability in Mowbray to appoint a strong captain shows his lack of stewardship and direction. I do not see any signs of a man who has man management skills, tactical ability or the cojones to be Celtic manager.

His face on the sidelines during games sums it up......vacant and lost.

If he is rebuilding the side as he has claimed, then surely you start with key roles like your captain, that should be one of your first objectives when you arrive, not halfway through a gash season.

    Mowbray..............dear oh dear..............

If the rumour mill is true and Broony was (assume he still isnt) a huns fan, would that be the first to captain us?

    :54:

He doesnt even a merit an automatic start ffs.

tbf who else is he going to give it to? Keane has done nothing to earn it, Boruc could have been but he's too far gone now and theres not really a lot of obvious candidates and i believe Brown was Captain a couple of times at Hibs when Mowbray was there. at least it should screw the nut on him and give him greater responsibility

also perhaps its a GIRUY to the media who were apparently 100% certain he would be gone by now

Think Brown should be concentrating on improving his own game. Think he has struggled to cope with the expectations that come with a big money move since he arrived and giving him the captaincy is just going to put him under even more pressure.
N'Guemo or Keane until the end of the season would have been a better choice for me and then assess Brown's form

I thought a lot of people on here would be jumping for joy because the armband was giving to an actual SCOTTISH player...with all this were the next Arsenal talk thats been going on I'm surprised at how negative the response was. Personally I think he should play on the right wing, similar to Robson before he left, that way he gives us defense dig on the outside as well as more of an attacking force than Robbo.

The jury's out for me. No one can question his spirit or drive. But does he merit an automatic start which the Captaincy brings? For me, at least at present, no.

He's got to be played wide right now as he's not as good in the middle as Crosas or N'Guemo or more recently Ki, which really hampers our already limited creativity.

I'm really not sure about this at all. Who else would I have given it to? The only man who seems guaranteed a start... Boruc.

If this brings out the best in him then great! He is a good player!

Don't see why N'Guemo has to be dropped or Crosas for that matter , Brown could easily be played out wide or with those 2 in a 3 man midfield!

Or any Record "journalist". Traynor happens to be the most annoying.

From "No Future" to Captain in a month. At least we can smile at one small victory, I guess.

Are you asking what does GIRUY mean, or why should they get it up them?
