just noticed the other day when watchin the rotten mob playin against st johnstone that apart from nacho mcnovo rangers put out a full british team i.e players that actually know what scottish football is all about, and mainly players that actually care about rangers.

    alexander (sco)
    whittaker (sco)
    weir (sco)
    wilson (sco)
    smith (sco)
    davis (nir)
    thompson (sco)
    fleck (sco)
    novo (spa)
    lafferty (nir)

compare this to celtics line up against killie the other day. apart from maybe boruc, mcgeady and keane. who do u think actually gives a * about celtic?

    boruc (pol)
    hinkel (ger)
    loovens (hol)
    hooiveld (hol)
    naylor (eng)
    ki (kor)
    n'guemo (cam)
    mcgeady (ire)
    keane (ire)
    fortune (frg)
    kamara (fra)

i have no doubt that celtic have better players than rangers but its the passion we are missing that they have got

It could be the problem mate but it didn't stop arsenal challenging for the league and getting to chMpions league final

Some people play this stuff down and say it's all about the technical quality of a player. But that's wrong.

Sometimes during a game, it is effort and desire that are called upon.

A foreign player who's happy earning a tidy wage, perhaps hoping for success to fuel that move to the big time in the spl, is less likely to cough their guts up for the cause than a player who knows the massive importance of winning for Celtic.

Mowbray's foreign Celtic needs to "gel" quickly or questions will keep being asked. :87:

    ^^^^ True That ^^^^

If I was a neutral, id probably be backing Rangers against Celtic due to their passion. I mean, no-one on heres going to say Lee McCulloch is a player ehh?

But put him in there with Thomson and Davis, against Ki, Crosas and N'Guemo - they win the most important battle on the park hands down ...

And the Arsenal point about Foreigners, you have to be good to play like that!

But since Arsenal got rid of players with a British backbone, Adams, Dixon, Seaman, Keown etc... Playing witha monster like Viera in the centre of the park, they have had little succes in the past 8 years.

Aslo, when they won it with Henry, Viera Petite etc... they had a team full of World cup winners and were very competitive and combative all over the park.

You have to be really good to play a team full of foreigners without a British backbone through your side.

We just aint that, dangerous game Mogga is playing, for himself and the next managers coming in!

look what happened to leguen, only papac remaions from that side I think (not compairing them, just giving an example of the dangers)

In my opinion,Celtic are trying to play like Arsenal, that in itself can be a joy to watch but it dosen't always win you games and it's even harder to acheive when we need a team in it's infancy to click from the off!
Celtic like Arsenal lack a player that can mix it when the going get's tough......a wee show of thuggery or should i say fighting spirit is lacking.
Whereas Rangers are a tried and tested unit playing to their strengths and when it ain't going right they can revert to digging in with a bit of grit and determination, leave in the odd boot or elbow style tactic that the SPL demands somtimes just like Kilmarnock did the other night and we had no real answer to it...Yes, on another night we could have scored 3 or 4 but we never.
I just pray that we start scoring from now on or our season is gonna disappear doon' the pan!

By the way,I'm one of the believers the title is still there for us but obviously we have start learning how to grind out results like Rangers do!

Gers have unity as well, there team have been playing together for a long time now and know each other inside out.

Its like Martin O'Neil side the were a unit that played together for a couple of seasons, when you have that unity its hard to beat.

Hopefully that is what TM is aiming for and we don't just get rid of what we bought in jan in the summer window. There is already three new boys who might not even be here next season and they would need to be replaced also N'Guemo not a certainty to stay.

We need that unity and players that are actually celtic players and not just here as a stop gap to get games for the up coming world cup, we need players that want to play for Glasgow Celtic.

The real difference between the two of us are they're a team. We, since Mowbray has turned up- Are a bunch of players. Not a team.
This isn't to do with geling, as we weren't playing as a team at the start of the season.
It's to do with the comments of mowbray like "we need new strikers" "what can i do? That defence is pish" "I want 10 new players"
that kinda * that kills a team and turns them into two teams. The mowbray's and the Strachan signings.

"I think it is important to win a match, but I think what is even more important is the manner in which you win."

Player for player, we are better than Rangers. Far better. Could we be a defensive, cheating outfit of 11 thugs? I'd like to think not. We have more class than that.

Why does everyone pretend that Celtic must play down to the level of Scottish football to compete in the league. This is no defense of anything that is going on now, but let's look back a few years. When MON was here we played a much more wide open/non-Scottish style and won. So the real solution is to play good football however possible. Strachan did it with what he had. Here's to hoping that Mowbray can get this mob sorted out and playing some good football.

They are passionate, know each other well, and have a manager who knows how to lead a club like Rangers, and properly set the defensive style they play.

Aye bring back Robson, McManus & Caldwell - they might not've been able to play football, but they could jump on a guys back in the penalty box - or score an OG if required.

It's the blood & snotters that counts in this wee country, if you've not got that you'll get beaten by Kilmarnock - but if that's all you've got you'll be Kilmarnock.

Get some ambition - if there was good Scottish players we'd buy them if they would improve the team. We've got the highest transfer fee between SPL clubs to prove it.

Stop reading the Daily * Record.

they defend as a team where we are vunreable to the counter, people can penetrate us easily, we cant get through a team set up as a 442 properly, and we havent gelled as a team yet, the day we cant defend as well as we can attack and score goals we do fine
