I'm not saying he is a wonderkid but does anybody else find it funny how the scum bring in Wilson and Fleck and there called wonderkids.

I thought Thompson played very very well when he came on yesterday, Winning headers, good passing ability, good tackling. Was a big possitive yesterday.

I would partner him with Hooiveld ( if he's anygood ).

I wouldn't say he is a wonderkid nor would i say Fleck and Wilson are. Thought he had a good game yesterday right enough , won his headers and kept things simple. Only downside is his lack of pace which could be a problem against better and faster strikers.

totally agree mate, thought he looked more compossed than mcmanus who is our supposed captain and wat i liked most is he is a no nonsense defender just puts the ball out of play none of the tryin to control it stuff. playing against there big forward yesterday was a big ask of the bhoy and to be fair he played against that big lad very well .

totally agree with him startyin with jos

Wilson is a good player from what I've seen, Fleck is the most over rated youngster in Scottish football history.

Not seen enough of Thompson to comment but there were a couple of rookie moments yesterday as well as some solid defending.

at teh game the one were there big striker was 1 vs 1 with thompson at the half way line i thought he should have tackled him there but he let the big man run and tackled the guy to put it out for a corner which was the right move as if he dived in and never got the ball there striker was through so his desision making seems spot on

He looks a good enough player but I doubt he will ever be a top class player as he doesn't have any pace. Looks a better bet than O'Dea though.

I would hate for any of our younger players to get labelled as a "wonderkid" as this will put them under pressure straight away . playing for celtic is pressure enough ..he was solid yesterday if a pass wasnt on it was simply booted into the stands . no risk football at its best :50:Lets hope he gets a start on Tuesday :celt_2:

Never been one to play down youngsters trying to break into 1st team, but young thompson has a very long way to go. i know he won some headers and played it simple but appears to have lack of pace and looks one footed?. I watched him yesterday with all the hope that he would stand out having been given his chance but alas looked on several occassions like a rabbit caught in headlights although we are all looking for a solution to our CB problem at this moment in time young Josh is not the answer. I hope in time he will become a fine CB and go on to be one of the club greats but i fear that is a long way in the future

I totally agree with that accually.

Back to Thompson though, did anybody else see he was giving out alot of commands and seemed to be talking alot. That was quite suprising I thought because you wouldnt expect a youngster to come in and give commands to players, was great to see.

played well, he looks bigger than he was when we signed him which is good, hopefully he will be a beast in a year or two, he has the height to be one, his pace is a concern tho

I like how the thread starter said, 'I'm not saying he is a wonderkid....' right off the bat, but decided to call this thread 'Josh Thompson, Wonderkid'. :97:

i wasnt too impressed with him lol. He's too slow that he could barely compete with the falkirk attack and he's just kicking the ball out when he gets the chance instead of trying to make something of it.:celt_2:

As well as he did play he seems really slow, caught for pace quite alot. Did seem to win his headers and tackled very well. Hopefully if he can get a run of games he could get sharp and challenge for a first team place. Still young has a lot to learn but he did show glimpses of what he could do. Could possibly blame a lack of fitness due to know reserve league I suppose.
