Hartson wasn't a midfeilder/ winger. He was a striker who scored goals. Big and physical. If lefty was so good he would have some very tasty offers

Hartson is paid to pick holes in Celtic. Get used to it. He's taking the media's cash and he doesn't give a *.

not really! just cos hartson's got no pace doesn't mean he can't spot someone else in the same boat lol anyway as a central mid player (Ledley's preferred position) pace isn't a necessity, riquelme is a good example although he usually played a more attacking role than Ledley

I don't believe he is. We shall have to agree to disagree. I believe he, obviously prompted by his bosses, creates headlines (usually negative) when there doesn't need to be such drama and negativity.

He doesn't hav bosses as such. He's on a consultancy contract. He passses his opinion, not the papers. You are naive and paranoid if you think otherwise. I've worked in that environment.

Wow. I can't believe you don't know how silly this makes you sound. As I said, we shall have to agree to disagree, but I'm sure you know better as you've "worked in that enviroment". Silly me for having questioned the judgement of such a highly regarded sports journalist with years of experience in the field but still has time to post on an internet forum at 3am.

Oh dear and you claim I make silly statements. Honestly. Leave the paranoia out. Hartsonputs his points over and a headline is then generated by the paper, nit him. He's said nothing that fans completely disagree with anyway!

Never claimed to be a "respected journalist" and don't see the relevance of the time of posting if I was!

you seem to be fighting with quite a few people at any given time mate...

    >topic
ledley would be a great signing for us but it seems we wont get him, so we need to move on to other targets who are still a possibility, instead of debating over a player whos position here at celtic is already taken, that being said, mcgeady could be on his way out, and mccourt could well be fit enough to play at least 60 mins, and id take 60 mins of brilliance from mccourt over 90 mins of pish and genius on and off from mcgeady,

not to mention mccourt isnt paid all that much and isnt a damper on our ability to replace him or someone in that position

we also have mcginn who, if given a run, will turn out quite nicely for us, he's got a lot of pace and he really just needs to be finely tuned to the physical requirements of scottish football, and as we saw vs hibernian, he's beginning to adapt (unlike koki mizuno)

im thinking if funds can be directed towards our back line and dire center midfield, we'd have a decent team on our hands, not a back line where darren odea is the "old" one

Stoke set to wrap up Ledley capture

Stoke should complete the signing of out-of-contract Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley this week providing the Welshman passes a medical.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is a long-term admirer of Ledley and failed with a succession of bids for the 23-year-old back in the summer of 2008.

He has retained an interest in his countryman ever since and is now ready to make the Wales skipper his first signing of the close season later this week.

TEAMtalk understands Ledley is due to undergo a medical at the Britannia Stadium in the next 48 hours and, should he pass, he is set to put pen to paper on a deal with the Potters despite interest from the likes of Roma, Galatasaray, Celtic and Everton. Cardiff will be due compensation for Ledley as he is under 24.

Stoke are looking to strengthen in a number of positions ahead of the new but Pulis is not expecting too much developments until after the World Cup.

He told the Stoke Sentinel: "We are aware of who is and who isn't available, but agents and players are still dipping their toes in the water and not committing themselves just yet.

"That will change as time goes on. It's just a case of everyone being patient and then hoping we can get who we want when people start making firm decisions."

Why does it put an end to it cos teamtalk said it. They are one of those companies thT charge £2.00 a min or something like that to listen to total drivel. Oh and another thing you actually think if Roma Celtic everton were intrested in signing him he would choose Stoke get a grip he would prob choose everton as they are an established epl side

Well. At least since the chairman said that he only wants to switch to Premier League.
