  1. Personally never been interested in any of the shakes, steroids or anything like that. I just eat the proper foods and train hard, real hard and there's no doubt I'm getting great results now.

In my opinion, people who turn to steroids are just people not willing to put the work in and usually end up with very average results. I find it much more rewarding knowing that I haven't needed any assistance along the way and knowing that I am not at any risk, long-term or short-term.

  2. what is that mate? Navy or Marines or something?

good on you tab. Though I have heard that steroid users can be far slacker with their training and lifestyle and still come out with decent results. It says so in the documentary jiko uploaded.

  3. That is true but these people who have to turn to steroids are generally people not willing to put much work in. There's no doubt they can be slacker with training and get results.

These results are usually short lived though because people who have to turn to steroids and likely to go a while without any training or very little training. You can tell that by the fact they have had to turn to steroids to gain results in the first place.

I've seen some side effects of steroids first-hand as well.

Anyway, you're right in saying that it's a personal choice but I just don't understand why someone would even consider using steriods. Bad side effects are rare in my opinion but very much real. It really isn't hard to put the work in and eat properly, that's why I've never been tempted.

  4. though, the one's who go every day and are on the gear would claim it just shows the measures youre willing to go to and the effort they are willing to put in (every week day working-out- for example)

But aye, I mean funny this, but I feel what has given me any shape that I have is not so much the weights, but swimming- for years, just once a week, for years. But more now weights have helped me with other areas other than my back. But as I have said, there are guys I know who went to a gym I used to go to for a matter of weeks- weights became too light.

  5. There's no doubt that steroids can be an advantage to anyone regularly training.

I can also understand lots of different drug use and I'm not ashamed to admit I've experimented for a few different reasons myself, just not with steroids or anything regarding the gym.

I just don't understand the reasoning for steroids, as the same results can be achieved without the drugs. I know it would take a lot longer and you need to put in a lot more work but you can achieve the same results without the risks. That is worth every session in my opinion.

  6. I've heard that argument, but for me it equivocal. Steroids are simply the avoidance of long term pain and exhaustion that would be necessary to get those results if they didn't use the roids.

At any rate, give me functional strength over body building strength any day of the week

  7. I duno though, I don't think I will be strong enough to shift some of the amounts of weight that these people can do. And I'm not too bad in my respective opinion

  8. :50: they dont get you anywhere that a bit of old fashioned hard work and dedication cant get you. also, heard that in the long run they completely * you up.

  9. Nothing like a bit of scaremongering , or taking the moral high ground whichever way it's meant.. I'll stick to the opinions of the professors and scientists that say "abuse" rather than use is what leads to problems rather than generalisations from people who heard something through the grapevine..

  10. I have never, tasted something as bad as this:

    Total Gainer from Myprotein

wasted 21 quid on it. I get through a shake and im boking over the sink. What is the deal with that? never had protein shakes before but these are making me nearly whitey everytime i drink one. Surely that can't be right?

  11. I find they all taste a bit mankey if all your doing is a straight mix with water or milk..
I add the powder near the end of my smoothie which has a bottle of yazoo flavoured milk (500ml) or yop yoghurt (500ml) , add a banana or two and maybe some other yoghurt and fruit and a third of a carton of cranberry juice or grapefruit juice depending on what powder Im adding.. Making around a litre of stuff which contains 2 good scoops of powder.. Blending it all , then puting it through a sieve or strainer..

  12. steroids or shakes?

  13. could you buy unflavoured protein powders and just add it to diluting juice- after you've diluted that with water? Or buy a carton smoothie from like a supermarket and blend the powder in.

What creative ways are there to put it into your body as I have noticed the increase in fat for me when taking them with milk- but also the increase in aches and a longer recovery time when I didn't take the drinks. Went back to them with water- absolutely foul. Anyone got any thoughts?

  14. I know mate most are disguisting , my mate's one are banana flavoured ect and they are horrible , you just need to force them down most of the time. Althought theres a few strawbery flavoured ones from jjb and greaves which taste good , get them from holland and barret too , just mix it with milk and it tastes just like a strawbery milkshake , easy to drink too :50:

  15. h and b is too expensive

  16. ano mate its mad the prices in there

  17. yeah they are. though occasionally they have limited-time offers on decent protein :50:

Just a case of hearing about them

  18. Right lads thought this was best put in here as you might be able to help or advise.

Recently I've been working out quite alot at home to gain weight I lost over the past year and to bulk out a bit so I've been eating alot differently etc, cut down on the smokes and all that, mostly I've been doing upper body stuff, I have a mutli gym so most of the work is done on that.

Anyways after I work out a few hours later I get really really bad pains in both my shoulders running down into my arm muscles and my hands go numb, I'm not sure what it is and I've tried to adjust the amount of weight I've been doing, it's not a massive problem just sore and quite annoying.

this happens to a lot of my mates , most of the time its during the work out , they say it goes away but ive never had it before so i will ask them :50:

  19. ah your back, posting dan, stick around this time:50::bbpd:
