I'd agree too - because Mowbray is predictable numpty. Walter Smith must be laughing his heading off that Mowbray will start with McDonald.

Everyone else can see that Fortune is the bigger, faster player who can shoot from a distance.

McDonald has been gash for months.

    Is Mowbray listening? Nah.

If we start with Loovens and McDonald WE WILL LOSE.

Im going to stick my neck on the line here and say a 4-1 to the hoops , we all know form means nothing in an old firm game our team is capable of playing good football and rangers wont cope with it , id put mcgeady right on broadfoots shoulder as hes pish tht *, i would personally would have had fortune harasssing the young guy wilson he doesnt have the experience to deal with someone as big and powerfull as marco . its time to get behind the bhoys today and get into these basterds

    Cmon The hoops !

McDonald Should Only Come On For The Last 20 Minutes

I like Scott McDonald - he's a natural goalscorer - but his form and confidence have been really low of late. Worse, if McDonald fluffs a few chances in a game he tends to stop trying. He'll still shoot but you can sense that he's not putting any power or accuracy into his shots. How many times now has he shot wide or hit the ball so weakly that the goalie has not been troubled recently? It 's beyond frustrating - it's just unforgivable.

Even when he's only yards from the goalmouth Skippy's shots have no power. Kris Boyd is a crap footballer - but he at least ensures that if he's close to the goal he blasts the ball with enough force that the ball can't be stopped.

Scott is looking for the perfect pass, the unmissable cross everytime. In short, he's got lazy.

As a result, McGeady gets fed up feeding Skippy with balls and goes for goal himself...with the inevitable result. *, if only mcGeady could finish we'd have the prefect footballer on our hands.

Fortune must start today before McDonald. The Gers don't really know Fortune and they will not be used to his size and pace. Fortune can shoot from a distance - useful given that McGregor has a record of flailing at long range bombs (remember Naka?).

The Gers know what to expect from McDonald. Even Weir has his number.

Put Fortune on First and Weir will crumble.

My fear is actually starting with Robson.

Not particularly due to me disliking Robbo, but because his inclusion will mean that McGinn, Crosas or N'Guemo have made way for him.

Interesting to read Crosas & Mowbray in the media this morning speaking of playing FOOTBALL & not simply being a physical presence - which Robbo has become under WGS & sadly continued under TM.

Funnily enough if we had 1/2 decent CB's, Robson would not be in the team against anyone, never mind Rangers. His inclusion in the team doesn't even offer protection to the defence anyway, as we continue to ship goals with him in the team - why not take it on the chin, that our defence is * & play forward thinking ball players & take the game to them?

That's top quality points mate,i agree the sooner we accept it the sooner we can play the type of football the team is capable of. If you pummeling teams then that in itself helps the defenders and there confidence.

Having a load of 'strong' players to help the CB's just sends messages to the CB's that there * and it affects there confidence.

    Bingo!

I'll keep the faith with my defence despite them shipping goals, says Tony Mowbray - The Daily Record

One option for Mogga would be throwing some protection in front of his stoppers and stiffening midfield. But that flies in the face of his football faith - and he bristles at the thought.
Mowbray said: "That's almost a leading question. If I say: 'No, we'll just go out and play' then we get beat I'll be branded naive.
"If we were blatantly getting over-run and overpowered in midfield I'd have to hold my hands up and say I was wrong.
"But if your wingers are killing them and making chances only for the opposition to score from a corner no one is interested.
"They just say: '*, he's naive - he didn't play three in midfield to match their three'. Am I going to stiffen the midfield? I don't think so."
Defeat today would be a huge blow but Mogga said: "We had control at Ibrox for long spells and can take positives from it."

Marc Crosas: I don't have to be big physically to make an impact in Old Firm clash - The Daily Record

Yet getting his football education every day alongside Barca's brilliant Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez - both exactly the same height as Crosas - taught him prowess and power don't need to go hand in hand.
The 21-year-old said: "In football you have to play with the ball and if you have possession then physicality doesn't matter.
"It matters if you don't have the ball and need to chase to get it back. But we need to be good at what we do well - getting on the ball and playing good football.
"I've been watching Xavi and Iniesta since I was 12 or 13 and you learn from that.

Hairytoes i agree with crosas,he doesn't need to be big and physical to control the old firm at all. Having him and N'Guemo in the midfield gives the team both bite and finesse and it's a very good mix... bringing robson on to babysit does no one any favours IMO as i believe robson is better at attacking anyway.

For this match i think TM must be brave and go with a midfield of

Crosas/N'Guemo. one sitting one drifting and supporting.

McGinn (although i know for a fact it'll be robson on that side)
    MCGeady.

    My ultimate team would be

    Our 3 strongest CB's
    N'Guemo (cdm)
    McGinn (lm)
    Crosas (CM)
    Ki/Zi (cam)
    McGeagy (RM)

Fortuné/McDonald (sammy probably a better choice but sammy would do well off the bench in this game imo.

That's the system I'd love to see,352 but I'm a sukar for loads of midfield support forgetting that our cb's aren't the best. (or indeed the wide men @ defending)

@Mr Q please read my post first. The highlighted is the midfield that i think will be played TODAY hence the 4... the former (352) is what my preference would be.. I did not say that's what it should be in this match. :56:
