Excellent reply! I saw Welsh flag in Old Firm in I think 2004-2005 season.
Rangers who are Scottish and proud-I don't think so. I remember their fans were flying English flags when Gascoigne scored against Scotland in EURO1996.
And I think this flag is fantastic

I cant take seriously people who bang on about how awful the union jack is and swear blind they are not British but still vote for unionist parties like Labour who want to keep Scotland British. Its all hot air and no substance. If you really dont want to be British vote for a party that wants to break the union. Otherwise its just daft flag waving and havers.

Not particulary, until the right party comes along that can make it happen people vote parties like labour because they are the best of a bad bunch.

We can't vote into power a party that will massively * up the country for the sake of one aspect of the party that we like.

THe SNP are all you will ever get. They are deliberately soft nationalist and central because they are realistic that they need to be to maximise their vote. If you want to change the country do it after independence. The SNP are just a vehicle to get independence. Once independence is gotten THEN you only have to live with them for 4 years then you can change who rules us. Chances are it will be a coalition government anyway or at least they would be a minority govt like now and wouldnt be able to do anything much without other parties supporting it anyway. After their first term vote for who you want. What is four years after 400 of union anyway. Realpolitik. If you are waiting for a left wing republican independence party who would realistically win a majority then you are living in cloud cuckoo land and are basically going to indefinatley keep us British. There is more of a chance of that when we have independence and the Labour elements can break off from the pretend Labour party of Britain.

OK Irish flags. I really like the old pre-20th century flag of Ireland, the green flag with the golden harp. Its a beautiful flag that I much prefer over the tricolour. Its a pity it wasnt used when Ireland become a republic. I think the problem was its also the flag of Leinster so maybe people from other provences would have felt a bit put out.

Yes, I support UNITED IRELAND and if it means I am "plastic Paddy" I am proud to be it. If I could chose my ethnicity, I would be IRISH.

I dont think you would ever be put in the plastic paddy category. Its only used for people who have some Irish blood generations back and claim to be Irish on that basis. Its nothing to do with political views really.

    * being Irish,or Scottish if you could choose.Somewhere hot * sake,Spanish or something.
Tri colours much better than the harp, what it represents is much more meaningful and appropriate for Ireland.

I agree, I much prefer the flag with the Harp wish it was still our recognised national flag but in 1919 the tri-colour was the choosen flag to bring the communities together, green for Ireland, Orange for the william of orange followers and white for peace. :celt_2::celt_2::shamrock:

You are one of the worst culprits on this site Gunt for using this derogatory slur.

There is no such thing as a 'Plastic Paddy'. It is an extremely offensive term used against people, especially in this country, who have Irish backgrounds.

    Please stop using this term.

Exactly my friend....it is only deemed 'acceptable' in this country which just happens to be populated by bigots with anti-irish views.

Correct. We see them fly NIR and English flag.

Well, let's make a change-Irish from Scotland should go in Ireland, and Ulster Scots return to Scotland and I think everyone will be satisfied-UNITED IRELAND and born in Irish isle-brits will be in UK. In Ulster, I see many Scottish flags.

    100% agreed!
What about Lion Rampant? Fans can fly it they think blue colour is problem, but I think it is not a problem. Starry Plough and Sunburst (Gal Gréine) are blue and 4 provinces have two parts with blue background-CONNAUGHT AND MUNSTER. I am Celtic fan and I believe it wouldn't be a problem to bring Serbian flag at CP although it is red-blue-white (colours typical for Slavic nations). I am sure this looks nice.

And I like CELTIC because it is open to all irrespective of religion, *, nationality, race...I like all CELTIC nations. CELTIC fans should fly both-Saltire and tricolour. I know that 'Scotus' is Latin word for Irish and tribes from Ireland settled Scotland-So it is same nation if we look in history.

    As I have already written:

    * bless IRELAND, SCOTLAND,WALES, CORNWALL, BRITTANY, ISLE OF MAN. CELTIC culture is great. Imagine if Ireland and Scotland unite-that alliance or federation would be one of the greatest in the world. Scientists-Watt, Kelvin, Flemming, John Logie Bird, Alexander Bell...
    Writers-Joyce, Wilde, Shaw, Scott...
Celtic nations are worthy of admiration. I am so proud that 15 % of Serbs have Celtic origin.
    * Bless Ireland! * Bless Scotland! * bless, in one word: CELTIC!
