It would be nice to see more Scottish flags but I'm no going to loose any sleep over it. I think that a big reason why there aren't so many is that our clubs strong Irish roots have never been, and unlikely to, be accepted in Scotland.
So if you want to fly a Saltire feel free but if you want the Tri-colour fly that. Imo there should be a massive one made up of both.
Been said already, don't forget where your roots are. But we shouldn't forget who we are and where we play.

Does anyone know where I could get a hold of a green saltire online? Just while we're on flags

    Correct.

Although the new age supporters would want to alter that slightly - A club open to everyone.........apart from those who wish to indulge in the club's and/or their own Irish heritage.

For new age supporters; see above. After all, the famine is over why don't we go home.

Bottom line for me is if the flag was green and not blue then we would see more at games. Too much effort for some people to make their own green and white one. Theres a guy around area 109 who waves a blue saltire every so often after we score and the flag doesn't really bother me, but the colour does - The traditional green and white flow of the stadium is broken when he whips it out and looks stupid. Also, it's worth noting vendors around the stadium just don't sell them and that's a key factor. Furthermore, waving a saltire would make the Shame happy - almost as if we are trying to appease them, while the tricolour * them off.:50::56:I know what i'll pick!

You sound like a bitter hun that resents the Irishness of our club."* off and live there",disgraceful comment to make.

People go to Celtic Park to support Celtic, not Scotland. Our hoops are made up of two colours in the Tri-colour and of course our Irish heritage is probably one of the main reasons the Tri-colour is the most flown National flag.

LOL at whoever said its a disgrace to fly a Scottish flag because Neil Lennon is here. Don't be an *, Neil Lennon obviously feels comfortable in Glasgow and Scotland. He has lived here most of his * life, his wife and kids probably are Scottish, most of his players are, his heroes are Scottish (Stein, Dalglish). Not only that but the man comes from Ulster and a Catholic Celtic fan in Ulster is at more danger of getting jip than in Glasgow and he played for N. Ireland for years. Think before you post.

Like someone said, at SPL games its pointless, because we are playing other Scottish Clubs.

In Europe though it would defo be good too see a good number of Saltires.

I agree there alsybhoy I thought it was very odd. As someone else posted sounded like the comments of a bitter hun. I am from Dublin myself and any time I have been in other counties as well as here in the US I would say we both got on great.

In Europe and especially against English teams. The saltire was out when we beat Blackburn at Ewood Park and it was great to see along with all the other flags.I still don;t want to see a sea of blue and white saltires at CP or away though, not ever.Green white and orange for me:50:

He worded is badly but I think I got what he was trying to say. There is nothing wrong with Irish people, but I think a lot of people who really emphasise the Irish thing think the club exists as a platform for them to display this, when it does not. Celtic is not a club for people to display their Irishness, they are welcome to do so, but that is not its purpose. It is a football team, not a political movement.

the club and especially the fans have traditionally been quite political. What celtic means to you and what it means to someone else maybe different:shamrock::celt_2:

Celtic is the club it is because of the fans being political and showing there irishness.....if we didnt we would be just like any other football club.
