I'm all for flying the St Andrews flag, but it has to be said that the colour scheme doesn't sit well with the rest of the display at Celtic Park, does it?

    Easy solution then;

There's quite a lot of them to be honest. Especially in seasons we have won the league with things like Champions 07-08 on them.

I fly my flag proudly and don't care what anyone else says. It's my nation's flag it's not a political banner. I fly it proud and high and anyone who takes offence can take a running jump of a cliff...

I'll maybe get one printed up for my next home game with "Scotland's Pride" on it :50:

I understand that no-one was suggesting that and also as I mentioned in my postI have no issue with anyone flying a Scotland flag (is it really an issue, should there be a ratio of Saltire too Tri-colour because that would be the opinion of some others you have pointed out). When at Celtic Park, I sit/stand with my scarf and Celtic strip.

My sole interest is Celtic but at times(as I have pointed out in my previous post) that this subject is used as a device too attack our club and this is where I would object.

Maybe try watching the match rather than flag counting fs.

I agree the lack of Saltires at CP is used to attack our club by the huns.It almost feels like pandering to them when people start saying lets bring more.

Well , I do not think that blue colour is problem. Starry Plough and Sunburst (Gal Gréine) are blue and 4 provinces have two parts with blue background-CONNAUGHT AND MUNSTER.

Im scottish and i have nothing to do with ireland but i love the history of the club and the history of the people of our club. Born on famine and oppression and proud of that. We created something amazing in the face of defeat. Im feckin proud of what my club stands for and would happily fly a tricolour and a saltire at a celtic game. Colour of it doesnt help but id fly it.

"Plastic Paddy" is an anti-Irish term used by huns.

Is Billy McNeill "daft" then ? After all the "An Irish team playing in Scotland" quote comes directly from him.

For the record, the whole lack of Saltires amidst our support is a complete non-issue in reality and is restricted to ramblings on the internet. If match going Tims want to take a Scottish flag to the games then bash on, no one is stopping you. If these daft internet threads were anything to go by then we'd have 000's of Scottish flags on show at Celtic Park............

Stop arguing please. I like both flags, OK I like Irish more because of colours, but EIRE and ALBA are CELTIC countries and I think both should be at CP.

I fly the Irish flag at celtic matches because I'm proud of the club's Irish heritage as well as my own personal Irish heritage. Like the original response said,: If you know your history!

No it isn't. Some people are so sensitive, it is a term used WORLDWIDE for people who use distant or at times non-existant past relatives to show allegiance to another country that isn't their own. It is anti-knobheads, not Irish. Got no problem with people flying tricolours, I personally don't but I love those Saltires in the green and white. Anyone know where you can find them? I don't see them that often.

On the bit about plastic paddies, Ive talked to my most of my Irish friends about it and they told me that Irish people never heard of the term until the Brits conjured it up. And the Brits conjured it it up to scoff at other Brits of Irish ancestry who supported a united Ireland. "You have no right to have an opinion on the matter! You're not Irish! Just a plastic paddy!" So of course the huns love to call us plastic paddies, all the while telling us "why don't you go home". A bit funny I think. Anyways "plastic paddy" is an unfriendly jeer at a certain ethnic diaspora so I don't think it's something Celtic fans should be spouting at each other. Supposed to be a club open to all, you know?

I'd like one of the Green & White Saltires, seen a few before. I remember going to Love Street a few years back and a few of the Mirren fans had a massive Black & White Saltire.

    Support Celtic and Scotland equally.
Don't have any links with Ireland to be honest and don't really have any time for the country - Had a doing off a few in Dublin for wearing a Scotland top, and years a family friend got put in hospital by them when he was watching Scotland-Ireland in a friendly, because he had a Scottish accent.
Have no problem with anyone waving Ireland flags or whatever... people can do what they want.
One thing that does annoy me is guys acting like they are Irish, when they've never been there, have no links to Ireland, and have lived in Scotland their whole lives, living off our education system etc. If they love Ireland so much why don't they just * off and live there.

I honestly have to ask, how does someone "act" like they're Irish?

Don't they just act the same as the rest of us, except with a different accent? :97:

Dalglish is Scotland's most capped player, I think.
