If anyone is against the expression of Irish roots by our supporters, then there is a plethora of other teams which you can support. Don't let your * hit the door on the way out.

Yes. I believe that every flag of Celtic country is welcome. But, most fans are Irish and I do not think that tricolour is problem. On the contrary. I like that flag and I have big one in my room. But, to be honest, I would like to see more Scottish flags at CP. Also, I would like to say that CELTIC colours ate like those on tricolour-GREEN white and gold!

The majority of fans at Celtic Park are Scottish.

Might suprise you that alot of Irish people dont give a * about Celtic.

The majority of people at CP are Scottish.

OK. I thought that Rangers had more fans in Glasgow. Native Scottish or Irish descent? I always see the sea of Irish flags. That is what I thought they were Irish.

Dalglish is Scotland's most capped player.
I have no objection to the Irish flags, I think it's important for the club to remember and be proud of its roots, and to stand up for an oppressed people. However, as a proud Scotsman I would like to see more Saltires at Celtic Park. I think maybe the lack of them is due to them being blue.

I am first generation scots with Irish parents. I consider myself scottish, proudly so. Am assuming all the other posters on here are also proud of their nationality (in some way). I have no problem with Irish flags being flown at Celtic Park, and was delighted to see a Scottish Flag at yesterdays game. It would please me if there were more as Celtic are a Scottish club, but either way the club means so much to people that I dont mind as long as we are all wanting the same thing.

And as Celtic welcomes people of all nationalites, colours and creed. It isnt really something we should be arguing over.

You see we have a long and proud history of our dear club that spans back to the 1800's when Irish immigrants moved to Glasgow to escape the famine In Ireland. Celtic was setup by those who formed it from charity for the poor immigrants of Glasgow's East End.

And till this day and many many more we continue to remember and uphold the values of how we came to be. We don't forget. We're a proud Scottish club that remembers it's Irish roots.

But to answer your question you could call it a bit of both. There'd be natives aswell as alot of Scots descended.

But everyone is welcome here regardless of creed, nationality, or religion.

A club open to all. :shamrock:

Another thread where the Irish come in bashing all the Scots claiming it is "their club". Last time I looked Celtic play in SCOTLAND in the SCOTTISH Premier League. The majority of fans at Celtic Park are Scottish, anyone who thinks Celtic is a mainly Irish supported club is delusional. Open to all.

:47:Maybe you could quote some of these Irish people who have bashed all the Scots and claimed it is their club. From the sound of this you do not wanrt any Irish at Celtic Park.

No one has said those exact words but the feeling in this thread is that because Celtic has Irish roots only Irish flags should be flown and not the flag of the country where we play and where most of our support is from!
