I am gutted at the way in which Samaras plays for his own ego and does not put team interests ahead of his own. He has the perfect set up for Scott McDonald in 1st half but no, he goes for glory. Then when he was presented with an open shot on goal in second half, instead of side footing in, he chose to smack it hard and high over bar. Why does Mowbray leave him on and take Skippy off? On what I saw yesterday, Skippy still was our best threat on the Hearts defence and as Skippy has proven over many games now, he tends to score late in a game anyway.

Looking forward, I see us in an inferior state to play the Huns. Mowbray has proven to me that he is not up to the mental toughness required to lead Celtic FC. Walter Smith will out think, out strrategise and outwit Mowbray come Jan 3. That will put us miles behind and I just do not see how we will then overtake Rangers for the Championship.

I look forward to your comments? Am I wrong ? Am I seeing this clearly or still seething after losing to the poorest Hearts team in a decade.

I would like to revamp 'fritz a grand ol team' as its a bit old and cheesey, needs some fat beats
na, we outpayed them with 10 men, we were unlucky not to get anything.. if you ask me its loovens you should be annoyed with and the other defenders, Samaras didnt have a great game but hes done well for us recently. Loovens just looks clumsy and were talking about a camality per game for him. Its easy to get to down after a defeat, but ive been happy with the way the overall play of late, we need to strengthen the defence though bug time, it will breed confidence in the rest of the team.

A think ur being a bit harsh on Big Sammi at the end of the day he is a striker who given half a chance will 9 times out of 10 shoot at goal and anyway if ur looking for some1 to blame look at loovens whos decision making in the last few weeks has been terible.

samaras scored and missed a few games. what does that say? hes getting involved in the game. sadly for mcdonald he cant get into a game because first and foremost hes a poor footballer. Hes a goal scorer alright but generally hes not a goodfootballer. I dont see how you can say Mowbray doesnt have the mental strength required at celtic. As far as I'm concerned , and I am right on this, the problem is we have motherwell, hibs and dundee united players wearing celtic shirt. These guys are just average spl players with expectations that are just too much for them to shoulder. Mowbray is the guy to take us forward, if you cannot see it then you are sadly - short sighted.

yes Loovens set the rot with his suicidal pass but we cannot let these others like Slamaras off the hook. He thinks cos he got a goal in the game that he is some hero, what about the goals he cost us by not crossing for Skippy and then shooting high and wide with open goal. He is not Celtic class thats all there is to it

ah come on....Strikers have to shoot...
What if he passes to McDonald and McDonald misses
Do we then say McDonald shouldnt shoot he should pass to McGeady

If he thinks he can score then shoot....

You can say he should improve his shooting.....but not that he shouldnt shoot

All strikers are greedy, even when there is a pass open. Unless its a clear cut opne goal they will shoot before they pass when anywhere near goal

Sammy has been fantastic even world class strikers can miss a open goal he tryed to lift so the defender could not get it , As for passing to Skippy get a grip how many * times does Skippy pass ? he is a striker when in form he has to go for that type of chance ,

What about the Chances Fortune blew with his poor control when clear threw etc , all players miss ,

Loovens and heid lost us the game not sammy , aye he should have scored but wasnt the only one , Tony * up by taking Crosas off and Robson should never start again he is dire and has not got the legs.

We played well today man, we created enough chances to win the match, unfortunately tho we didn't take any of them, but if we were tighter at the back today, it wouldn't have mattered cos we would have won the game 1-0, with a Georgios Samaras goal. I don't think he was selfish today, him & Aiden was clearly Celtic's best players, he is a striker high on confidence, so why shouldn't he shoot?

Mowbray & Sammy isn't the problem, the problem lies in our defence, the sooner we get that sorted the better, cos we are playing some great stuff at the minute :50:

On another day those chances go in and we win the game easily by a large margin but today we were unlucky and as soon as we can get rid of dumb and dumberer the better.

It was bad luck for Sammy today..If You watch the replay the ball does take a slight bounce when he goes to kick it.I still thought he was outstanding though.I would like to see Fortune upront with Samaras from the start. They get about the park more and if we needed a last minute goal you could bring McDonald on.

i actually thought sammys all round play was really good today , he was beating players, drawing fouls, battling, laying the ball off, scored a goal. he missed a good chance yes but the ball took a bobble. if you think mcdonald was a bigger threat today you need your eyes tested, a ridiculous statement, sammy was 10 times the threat.

Completely agree with you. Robson was worse that a man short, and I don't mean the midget at half-time.

Also, nearly every manager in the world would have sacrificed a forward for a centre half when Caldwell was sent off but TM takes off a central midfielder and keeps Robson on. Beggars belief. We completely lost our shape after that and it's only down to the fact that Hearts are so bad that we managed to dominate the second half.

Right now we need to get two centre halfs in before we think about strengthening any other position.

Samaras and Mac Donald are both greedy players, they don't play for one another, I believe they're more interested in out doing one another than the team's results, sell them both in January.

Samaras is playing for his World Cup place, his overall performance has improved since Greece qualified for South Africa. After the WC he'll go back to what we saw last season, lose him in January if we can.

I think it was more difficult to knock down than Craig Burley was giving him credit for. He was running out of play, away from goal and yes he should've squared it - could he of? Not sure.

More offended myself with the open net which was probably fairly difficult but 95% of the time I would say a striker should be scoring that, or at least hitting the target.

As most people have pointed out though at least Sammi is getting in about and being involved in these chances, remember he got the goal as well. Let's face it at 1-0 we were cruising until the standard defensive blunder cost us dear.

It was our defence that cost us the 3 points not Sammy.

I didn't see yesterday's game so won't comment on Sammy's performance yesterday, however, generally I would say Sammy is more of a team player than Skippy but when any striker is on a goal scoring run you expect them to shoot, most strikers tend to be that bit greedy by nature.

I think he's been playing well these past few games and it's showing by the goals he's scoring and the attempts he's having.

I'm a lot more worried about our entire defence than any of our strikers though.
