The players must read this

Players are still people,some people are more inquisitive than others but really everyone likes to be liked to some degree.I'd imagine that if I'd grown up a player and got to live my dream, especially with my boyhood team,that no-one could be more critical of a bed performance than MYSELF.I'd say that most players look at these sites,at least from time to time,a fair percentage will be members as well,they have a right to an objective view-point if they read something which could be considered unfair or ignorant of personal circumstances.As for what they think...? or if the opinions given hold sway with them,that is up to the individual but I doubt it!!

 

I agree, but if you were a pro would you read these pages knowing that you know yerself and your performance could be compromised.

i.e fans wanting a spectacular performance but your manager asking for a more grafting role.

Fans think you played crap

if i was a pro id defo read the paper atleast, just the type of person i am, i play * and my team gets in the paper most weeks, i read it everytime lol, ano its not the same as being a pro, but im sure i would

Reading when it suits wouldnt work, how do you decide when to read?

If the daily record was reporting your private life, where is the line?

 

I think it comes with the territory. When you make a living off the public you have to brace yourself for criticism you may not deserve as well as praise you may not deserve. Good professional athletes keep an even keel regardless of how rough the waters are.

 

Any player who came on to a site looking for fans' opinions would be out of touch with the fans. Would be better if he got amongst them and got a feel for what it's like to be Celtic

Any who sought out fan's opinions and was offended by what he heard would, if it was unjust, give back as good as he got. If he simply wilted, he would need to grow a set or gtf

I got a few pro and ex-pro football and icehockey mates and they said they surf on the net pretty often and also read forums like this one. sometimes they even discuss funny threads and posts among the team.

Can't say if that's the same in Scotland, but I'm sure the younger players are online often too.

 

agree with you,but even if things go great some still have the knives out for certain players.Certain players get hammered some get their nuts massaged however they play. If they are flavour of month all kinds of excuses are found if they have a nightmare.the ones that are not flavour of month get hammered every week even if they have a decent game.

i feel thats a problem with some our players they are very average players on inflated wages laughing all the way to the bank to collect their 500grand to 1mil a year

I think the Prima donnas should sit in the lecture room and this Forum beamed up to a big white board so they can really know what the wage payer is really thinking
after all, if your are * and your manager cant tell you in a diplomatic way, then
