I agree with all said but the bolded

Everyone is at what Caldwell is doing, dont hate him for playing the game. A footballers no.1 priority is his family like everyone else and dont think for a second that they wont try to find a better way to provide for them whilst furthering their career.

People think that because of the wages they should be more loyal to their current employer. I dont think so. When it was boom time for joe soap, 99% of us were looking out for numbero uno, we'd all consider changing job if we got more money and then turnaround and slate a footballer for doing the same! Hypocrites!

They are skilled at a type of job that pays well, if we could all play football and get paid well, we'd do it too.

of course. but i would only play for the hoops. and especially if they pay me 15,000 a week. there would be no reason ever even to think about leaving the club.

but if you are only interested in money then you have a different view on things like that :86:

Majority of footballer dont get to play for their dream clubs but when they do, they do cut them as much slack as possible but I wouldnt expect anyone to accept bad treatment or to accept not being a regular. Players want to play and if Celtic offered me a 15k a week contract as a bench player when I can get more and be playing regularly at a good club with ambition then I must admit I would be tempted to turn down Celtic.

Yea its all our dreams to play for Celtic but lads, dont try to tell me that you accept anything they'd throw at you. I wouldnt believe you

Tells me he is playing a weak league compared to his previous ones - the Bundeliga and La Liga.

BTW why did you not respond to my last post?

I responded to your penultimate post in both points and numbers but you countinued to trot out the old chestnut of assists, so therefore I don't see any point in continuing to debate in that tunnel visioned context.

Don't take it personally :50: Some debates just run their course

Ok dude. That is indeed the way it happens sometimes.

Just wanted to say, with regards to the bolded part - I don't think 10 assists (3 more than our next best assister) is hardly 'tunnel vision'. That's a little unfair IMO.

Anyway, Christmas ( or boxing day as it is now I think) is no the time for long drawn out debates... ENJOY! :50:

As a right back his first priority is to defend, I'm sorry to labour this point, but Hinkel just doesn't do the basic defending well enough. He gets caught out of position far to many times, he doesn't challenge in the air at corners or free kicks, he's too much of a liability as far as I'm concerned.

Sort out the 2 centre-backs and I guarantee no-one would be talking about Hinkels defending.

does anyone else think it could be more to do with tactics than the player cos it seems to be hinkel-high assists= getting caught out of postion alot and fox-low assists= rarely gets caught out.also with mcgeady on left fox doesnt need to get forward as much but with barry carthorse on the right hinkel has to support him with overlaps

I concur :50: Let's all get behind the team and try and roar them on to nine points out of our next three games.

We should let the management sort it all out in January, then we can have a good debate in the aftermath of all that :56:

Thought he did very well today btw.
Plenty of good tackles and more good running up and down the flank.

We would still concede goals with the centre backs sorted out.

defending isnt the sole responsibility of only 2 players on the pitch.

The thing is, Hinkel doesnt stop crosses coming from his wing, doesnt defend the back post when they come for the over, can deal with players running at him, doesnt make blocks, challenges or interceptions

He is a liability in defense....

Football being the business it is means we should cut out the liabilities....

allthough he provides assists and that is an asset , overall he is a liability

Especially to a team which already has a poor defense

But you will be working until your 65 and they will only be working to 35
Footballers get paid 30k a week but they don't spend 30k a week

As for Hinkel I'm a fan of him. It doesn't matter if he isn't the greatest defender in the world because most of the teams in the SPL are rubbish anyway and most of the time we'll be attacking. Although I think he plays better with McGeady ahead of him tbh

Hinkels assist mostly come when mcgeady is on the right because Hinkel is allowed more time and space.

It's probably McGeady's fault that Hinkel's crosses are so accurate too is it?

In so far as he gets more time and space to aim...then yeah!

    That was the point...

He's under less pressure and has more time....allowing him get more accuracy...as well as get more crosses in
